Added steps to use if you are replacing old images already on your page or post with the newer one just compressed.
- Login to your website then go to the page or post you wish to make changes to.
- Find the image to be replaced while in visual mode click the edit icon which is the pencil
- Once you click on the edit icon which is the pencil above the next image will appear
- Here is where you can copy and paste any affiliate links and text attributes you may have and save them some else that is easy to find should you need them. Once done click the replace button which is under the image and you will now see your original image that comes up within your media file.
- From here you can download your new compressed image via your media library if you have already done so or if not download it using your computer
- When your new image is downloaded click on this image and you will see the old one has changed to the newer version. Here you just need to click replace down at the bottom.
- The image has now been replaced. Click the update button at the bottom and to double check go back to the image back on your website and repeat the image steps click the image hit the edit button and then this will appear.
- This is where you would either add back the affiliate links and any attributes you save earlier if they have been lost or if all is the same then you just need to click the update button bottom right and your new image has now replaced the older one.
- The final step here is to now update your post and you are done with replacing images from old to new.
That is all there is too it.

Nice article apache1, thank you! I am under the impression that to compress site images that I have to do this one at a time and re-upload, so I have not done it even though Google says I need to. All my Google speed buttons are yellow.
Looks like Carson's Blog says this is now resolved with the new automatic image compression software, yes! :) So my buttons should be turning GREEN soon!
