Today I noticed that my own page visits were being tracked and I realized I needed to fix my filter in Google Analytics.

I thought I would walk you through what I did in case you come across this issue yourself.

I'm going to walk you through these steps:

  1. How to Find Your IP Address
  2. How to Set Your Filter in Google Analytics

That's it! It's a very easy issue to solve.

I'm also going to give you an important reminder at the end.

Let's dive into it!

You might want to use Google Analytics opt out browser add-on and this will permanently solve the issue of the dynamic address. Easy steps.

Opt out browser add-on? Please tell me more. I don't know what that is! I'm sure that will help others reading this too.

Yes it will, this is the only way to deal with dynamic addresses, and they are mostly dynamic. So you might add this in the training. Just go to Google and type what I mentioned you will have it instantly, this is one of their standard tools. But ok here is the link

So it sounds like you could use this extension instead of manually filtering through analytics?

I will add this in the training as an option.

    Thank you!

It is more a must than an option. IP addresses change all the time depending on the location, in the US it is usually weakly.

I'm in the US, and it's not that often for me. I know what you're saying though. They do change quite a bit.

Oh interesting. So my IP address probably changed when our power went out the other night.

I can not use this with my browser, I have EDGE. What should I do to opt-out with that? Any suggestions?
