You will need an Amazon.com (US) associates account to get stared, as the initial set up will be done there.

To set up OneLink, you will need an Amazon.com Associates account. The Amazon.com Associates account is where you will do your initial setup for OneLink; to apply for an Amazon.com Associates account, visit the following link: associates-program.amazon.com.

You will also need an Amazon.co.uk Associates account, or Amazon.ca for Canada. To sign up for Amazon.co.uk, click here: https://affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk

To sign up for Amazon.ca click here: https://associates.amazon.ca/

Get logged into your US Amazon Associates account.

As of right now, you will see "new: launching one link" at the top right under your store ID.

Please excuse the sloppy arrows during this tutorial. For the sake of time, I'm just using my snipping tool! :)

Go ahead and click on that and you will be taken to the getting started/introduction to Amazon One Link Page.

Click the Link your accounts link and you will see the page below.

Select which geography you want to link to your US store ID. You will go through the linking and verification process separately for each region.

If you do not already have a UK or Canada store, this is where you will be prompted to create a new account for each region you wish to link.

We won't go through that process here. It's basically filling in some info concerning your site. It' similar to when you created your US store.

Click on a geography and you will see the page below.

Copy your new store ID for the region you are linking and paste it into the box, then go ahead and click the link store button.

At this point, you will see a four digit verification number. Amazon is going to request your phone number.

When the Amazon robot calls, it will ask you to enter the 4 digit number.

Enter the 4 digit number in your phone.

If all goes well, you will see your status change to a green "verified."

Next up, we will tackle the scary part...Inserting the code. :)

Hi Jeremy, here I am again to ask you a quick question. I still cannot get this OneLink to work for the life of me and it is driving me crazy. I was wondering if there is anyway to cancel it, unlink and do it again. Have you got any idea at all.

I have tried AdInserter even but that isn't working either so not sure what to do now. Obviously when I did it the first time it was correct and I must have missed the part where I put in what I wanted it to say or I would have been ok. xxxx

Hey Cheryl.

Did you notice any redirected traffic?

I'm a little confused with "what I wanted it to say". What you wanted what to say?

As far as starting over, I don't see why not. I would contact Amazon via email, or call them and get their take on the situation.

Also, as MsMerry stated, the implementation of One Link needs to be initiated from the US store.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for getting back to me. When I first did this I obviously did it correctly as the link went in where it should but it should not have been the code showing. What does yours say at the bottom and how did you get it to say that? Merry was speaking about after it has been verified a box should pop up and that was what I was referring to when I said about it saying what I wanted it to say.

I have done everything as they said and as your training says, it is just getting it to show up but not as code. xxxxx

I'm not sure if it is different for you, but I had no such box pop up. Mine doesn't show or say anything.

Are you noticing any redirected traffic yet?

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you Jeremy. No I never had any box either so not sure what Merry was talking about. I had done as they asked until I had the code then wasn't sure where to put it so looked at your training and then the it showed the code at the beginning but when I took it out again I have no idea what I have done.

No I've not had any redirected traffic yet. xxxx

Hello Jeremy,

I signed up for Amazon associates US and Amazon associates Canada. Got the OneLink set up as instructed in this training.

Now since I am living in the UK, my bank details are UK based. Does that make any difference?

And can you please explain why am I not able to see anything related to US or Canada traffic under "Link Type Performance" on my Amazon UK account?

Hey Haider,

As I explained earlier, it truly is best that you contact your Amazon Associate support staff regarding your banking details with them.

As for your links not sending you to US or Canada ... the OneLink links are coded to distinguish which country the clicker (you) live in by your IP address. So ... if you live in the UK and you click on ANY OneLink Amazon affiliate link (yours or anyone else's) it will show you the UK products.

Hope this answers your question.

Hey Trish!
Thanks for jumping in.
Great explanation :)

Haider:
How long have you had One Link set up?
Amazon analytics are only reported every 24 hours, so if you just set it up you won't see anything yet.

Also, how do you know for certain that anyone who needed to be redirected clicked your links? Your redirected traffic will show as "global redirected traffic", not necessarily giving you the specific region it was redirected from.

Okay got it. Will check after 24 hours :)
And where do I check that, on Amazon US or my Amazon UK home account?

Hey, did you change your primary account to UK? If so, how did you manage to do that?

I actually signed up for Amazon UK first and got to know about OneLink afterwards. So, I created Amazon US and Amazon Canada accounts and got the OneLink set up then.

But since I had already my bank details entered on Amazon UK (the account that I had created before other Amazon accounts), my earnings are in GBP there. However, I am not sure if the OneLink is working fine as I haven't got any sale from outside the UK so far!!!

If you have any other queries or suggestions, please do share :)

Thanks for the feedback.

Did you set up OneLink through Amazon US or were you given an option to do it with the Amazon UK account?

Because in Amazon Canada (the one I want as my main account) I wasn't given OneLink option so I had to do it through Amazon US. I'm just wondering if it was the same for you.

Also, should I set up my payment information first with Amazon Canada if I want that to be my primary account? I set up Amazon US first but now I have all US, Canada and UK accounts.

Is there a way to make one account the main one if I didn't set up with that one first?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, I set up the OneLink through Amazon US as other Amazon accounts don't give you the OneLink option!

As for the payment information, I think it has to be set up with your home account (Amazon Canada in your case) as I also did it for my UK account only. To be honest, I am also not 100% clear on this and would like to request anybody from the community to explain further, if possible :)

P.S. To test the OneLink, you can share your site URL (if you want) and I can test it for you while being in the UK and see if I am directed to Amazon Canada or Amazon UK. Hope that helps!

Hi Jeremy, I followed all the onelink training and got it all set up but when I went on to my site and go to the very bottom you can see the coding and it doesn't look very good, are you meant to see it or have I done something wrong. xx

You should not see the coding Cheryl. Did you fill out at Amazon what your link would say? EX: my 10 best motivational books. and then the link turns into that. If I am on the wrong page I am sure Jeremy will jump in.

Thanks, no I never saw that part but will go back and look. Xxx

Hi.
No, you should definitely not see the code anywhere on your site.
I'm heading to your profile now to find your site and check it out.

OK. So I can't for the life of me figure out how you got the code to show up like that. It almost looks like an arbitrary footer text widget that wasn't entered in text mode.

Are you certain you entered the One Link code in the editor ->Theme Footer -> One line after the closing body tag?

Hi MsMerry!
This is an odd one. I hope we can get it figured out!

You are making me wonder now Jeremy. Will go and check it now. xx

Yes, it is Jeremy. Like when I first tried and nothing would work. And it was just one little-missed step for me, so hoping it is for Cheryl too.

Jeremy, most helpful, thank you ever so much!
But, I have one question for you. In the past Amazon had a plugin which redirected visitors to the Amazon site of their country to a same or similar item. The problem was if they went ahead making a purchase, you wouldn't get commission.
Do you get commission for sales in countries you are 'one linked' to?

Thank you
Giulia

Yes.
This is supposed to be Amazon's "reward" to it's associates after decimating the percentages it paid to the army that literally built them into what they are.

Hi Jeremy. I finally found a time to deal with this. So I added one code to one site where I have Footer, but I did not have anything through phone. I only added UK so far. But I see that it is Verified. Is this phone thing only for Canada? My account with Canada was
canceled some time ago so have to apply again.
