Deciding what to pin
It's really up to you what you pin. There are some rules and you can read about these at Pinterest but they include the sorts of things that you would expect such as not promoting anything illegal or dangerous.
Because Pinterest is currently dominated by women users, some people have complained about the amount of fashion, art, cookery pins and boards that are there. And there are a lot. But actually there are a lot of different categories including: education, science, history, photography, outdoors.
The best way to get ideas of what to pin is to have a look at what other people are doing and then let your imagination run!

Quotes about almost anything are very popular indeed. Some business use quotes to promote their brand the company lifestyle.

There are many different types of videos on Pinterest. Remember to upload any instructional videos you've created that promote what you do.
Gifts
There is a whole section devoted to gifts at different price points. However, you can upload a pin with affiliate links to any products that you are promoting.
