Obtaining an invite

If you want to start using Pinterest, you can only open an account if you request an invitation. There are 4 ways in which you can currently make that request

1) Request an invitation from Pinterest

If you choose this method you will recieve a message from Pinterest saying that your name has been added to a waiting list. When I tried this method I was accepted 3 days after I had put in the request which is obviously quite slow.

2) Request an invite from someone at WA

You can go to the forum and request an invitation from a member there. Once you're invitation has been received go back into the forum and say that your request hs been completed..

3) Request an invite from a friend

Obviously you can ask anyone you know who has a Pinterest account and ask them to send you an invite to you.

4) Send an invite to yourself

Okay this may sound like madness but if you already have an account (eg personal) and want to run a business one too, you can always send an invitation to yourself. I did this to set up my company profile.

Pinterest is continuing to evolve and has a user base that cannot be overlooked. It should be part of everyone's social marketing agenda's and your image selection (on your site or articles) should be considered in the context of their share factor.

Thanks Kyle. I think it's going to be interesting to see how it does involve. I think some people are going to ignore it because they see it predominantly as a 'women's network' which I think is unwise. I believe tthere are a lot of as yet untapped possibilities and I want to be part of that.

Yeah, being an early adopter will have long term benefits. Some items (pins) can get undeniable reach if they go viral. The world of repins is one that should be sought after.
