So just how do effective sales pages work?

GOOD QUESTION!.

They work by tapping into the psychology of the purchase process by adding in certain elements that address the needs of a prospect on an emotional level...

With that in mind, we can get started on analyzing what is in a sales page and why it is there...

So...

What Do Sales Pages Look Like?

You have likely seen a million pages, have purchased tools, products, or services after having looked at a sales page. It is possible that you may have seen one prior to joining Wealthy Affiliate actually, depending on how you found your way here...

OK you understand what they look like, now why do you need them?

Uses Of Sales Pages for the Internet Marketer...

As you add more content to your websites using the training found in the Wealthy Affiliate platform, you may get frustrated that you are not getting the traffic you had expected, or perhaps you are not getting the conversions you want.

Maybe you are getting steady and even a growing volume of traffic but still you lack conversions for your promotions. If this is the case, the problem may lie in the delivery of your message.

A sales page is a good medium that you can use to more effectively persuade your viewers to take your desired action and turn them into paying customers or members of Wealthy Affiliate if you are promoting this site.

Let's be real...Bouncing traffic is a problem and unless the viewers have quickly been able to determine what is in it for them with your offers, people will also not stick around your website, no matter how good your content is....

A sales page can get this message to them efficiently and succinctly and in the process hit a lot of mental "buttons" that will cause them to be convinced of what you are selling and cause them to follow through to take action...

Bottom Line For You:

There are several ways to use a sales page as a part of your online marketing effort - you can develop one page for each product and expand in great detail (long sales letter) or you can create sales pages that work as landing pages, where the page is not quite as detailed and what some would say is a short page sales page (better said such a page has ONLY the details you need them to know).

You should learn about them, learn what is contained in them, how to create them, how to design them, learn where and when to use them, and leverage the effectiveness they bring to your own affiliate marketing program to increase your authority, leads, and conversions.

What are the key elements to a sales page?

Before we dig into the weeds too much on later pages of this training, let's look at some general characteristics of a sales page and why they are there. This will help you understand what you are looking at and also how you may want to incorporate them into your own sales pages...

(1) THE MESSAGE...

The sales message is presented in a manner that may be frowned upon when used with most other forms of Internet marketing, i.e. content marketing or social marketing.

You do not have to follow all the rules of grammar and etc. when creating sales pages, indeed it is likely for effect you will not want to - you have lattitude, because we are not trying to rank such pages with the search engines...

(2) THE DESIGN...

The sales page presents your product to the viewer in a very direct way. People coming to that page have come to learn what you have, and were driven there from some other location (i.e. an ad, an article, a review, etc.)

In this case, you want to keep the focus of the reader on the page and highlight the things that are important to getting the viewer to understand the what, why and how of your product or service. Always add in that how portion, that is your call to action.

(3) WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME?

Sales pages help you present the prospect what is in it for them. People want to know this kind of thing before they buy from you.

I call this the "why" portion of the page, in that you have to convince people that have already shown an interest by getting to the page WHY they need to have what you are selling, and also why they need it now.

(4) SHOW ME THE DETAILS!

When you create a sales page, you have to include specific detail of what all is included in the product or service that you are offering. This portion of the sales letter is the "what" and when you add the details you are on the way to winning the readers over and making a sale.

(5) ASK FOR THE SALE!

Always, always, always have a strong call to action as a part of your sales letter. Readers want to be told what to do. If every other part of your sales letter convinces them they need to secure what you are offering, but you have not told then what to do , you may lose them as a customer. Ask directly for the sale: do not forget this part!

There are more elements that we will discuss and that you need to include in your sales pages, but generally this is a start.

On the next page we'll discuss the options for creating sales pages ===>

Thanks for this amazing training, Dave. And by the way would you mind to check my sell page https://djmoribroadcasting.com/online-radio-dj-store and tell me what I still need to do for improvement. And I also bookmarked it to read more thoroughly.
Thanks a lot.

With a warm smile.

Thanks also Joana Marie for stopping by...This training is something you pull out when you need it, but it is important stuff for us online marketers...

I see all these seemingly perfect pages out there, but when you understand what needs to go in each element, you can pick out areas that could be improved on these perfect pages hehe...

I will go check out your page and give you some feedback!

Cheers!

OK, this is more of what I would consider a review page, and there is nothing wrong with that because that is the focus of the page...

It looks fine to me!

I like the items you have in and the radio on the website is a really nice touch. You have some good tunes...This DJ broadcasting is something that might be useful for other niches?

If you go to JVZoo and look at some of the items they sell, you can see what I am referring to in regards to a sales page...These are generally focused on one particular product or service...

Cheers!

Cool, there is a lot to digest, no doubt. I decided to go deep in lieu of doing a half-way skim job because sales pages are so important...Cheers! Dave : )

The headline and the lead comprise 80%!

Yes, these are key elements for sure...If they are not right, you lose the prospect immediately...

If you can crack these two components, at least you have a chance using the remaining elements to make the sale...

This kind of copywriting is totally different from the content marketing, but this is something they have in common I think...

Hi, Pedro!

Thanks, M8, exactly what I would suggest...This is something you will not need every day, but something that can help you whenever you do create sales pages...

For those members here at Wealthy Affiliate actively promoting the membership site, when would this apply? Well, it can be done anytime actually...

It is another approach to getting targeted traffic to your offer. It can be just as effective as using content and organic traffic, and it can be faster...

It can be used with particular effectiveness during the annual Black Friday sale that Carson and Kyle throw each year around the end of November...

We have free hosting here, you can set up one sales page for a regular sales pitch, and use a separate site for the annual sale.

In both cases, once you have it done, it is ready to go and only has to be updated minimally to reflect changes. Then you can start a paid ad campaign to start pulling in traffic...

Cheers!

No probs Gautam you are more than welcome!

Thanks for stopping by - This training is a bit extensive but hopefully can be useful for members...

Personally, I would typically add such training to my stored bookmarks here. This way I could have access to it for the times I was creating sales pages...

I hope other members do the same...I am always here for questions as well hehe...

Cheers!
