Focus is what it's all about. If we focus on our goals as though our life depended on it we will achieve them. But everybody's financial situation is different and for a lot of people, the fee for premium membership is too high a price to pay.

So let's get around this and tackle it. There are many ways in the business world that we can utilize our skills which would more than pay for the tuition fees at wealthy affiliates.

Yet rather than do that many of us chase shiny new objects.

How many of you have an addiction to buying Internet marketing products? At some point or other we have all thought that sounds great I will buy that it will be very useful.

Then this languishes is on your hard drive for ever and a day. Until you get over this mentality, you will never really be successful! This may sound very tough but it actually means that you are still thinking of your selves at the buyer you should be thinking of yourself as an Internet professional.

By still being in the buyer mode you are becoming a slave to the people's great sales copy, and you are an Internet marketing professional you know how good sales copy is!

That does not mean that you should not buy anything related to the Internet marketing world. There are lots of things you can buy that will benefit your business now, things that you should have that would make you work smarter.

There are two things you need to consider every single time you go to purchase something, and when you consider these things your life and business will change completely.

1: Will I be using this product, to seek an eventual goal that I already have in mind

2: Will I use this product today or store it on drive H forgotten, unloved and uncherished

The secret here is to ONLY buy products that you need to reach your next goal, and ONLY if you are going to use the lessons taught.

The number one reason that most products "don't work" is because the person buying them does not put them to work, so they never even get a chance.

So make sure you are only buying products to seek a current eventual goal that you have already put in place, and make sure you will actually use it.

Let's give a quick example... I really don't want to stay on this for too long, because I am alienating the people who don't think it's the mindset problem.

Let's say you want to focus your time on building an affiliate website. You think that will be a great way to make money online.

If you come across a product, ask yourself these two questions.

Will it help me reach my goal?

Will I put it into action right away?

You can usually answer these just by looking at a sales letter. In this case the product would have to be related to building affiliate websites, and it would have to be something you are ready to put time and effort in. It would have to be software that automates the process and would not diminish your business.

When you purchase products like this, they become valuable business assets, rather than a wasted purchase that helps an addiction.

This is how you control the addiction, rather than quit entirely, and it's how you can grow your business while still learning what you need to learn.

So what happens if you successfully set up an affiliate site and you are making some money, but then you realise that you want to start building an email list from your site.

Well now your goals have changed. So it's ok a to buy a product about list building because it helps your new current goal. Also the important question is about getting things done, so if you are not going to use it, do NOT purchase it.

So if you want to learn about affiliate marketing, list building, product creation and sales letter writing all in one go... will you buy products for everything?

The answer is of course NO. You could never put them all into practice, and they are not helping your current goal.

The important point here is that you stop wasting your money, and start spending your time.

You should spend 25% of your time learning and growing your knowledge, and 75% of your time putting it into action.

If you are about to purchase a product, but you don’t have 75% of your time to dedicate putting the lessons into practice, then you should not buy it.

Make sure any products keep you focused on a goal, you absolutely will take action on the product, and that you are spending 75% of your time taking action, and the rest learning new things and growing.

OK, enough with all the ranting. If you are stuck deep into a hard core buying addiction, then read this chapter over again.. It's the most important foundation for the next step, so internalize it, and become the person who's time is valued at $480 an hour.
