This is probably one of the hardest ways to write unless you are a natural comic.

This picture I have chosen will affect people in different ways, for some it will be stupid, others will laugh, some can't change the page quick enough and yet others don't care one way or the other. So this picture will work for some people and not for others. Comedy is fraught with danger, lol! (Puns intended , don't leave now this is just getting interesting...or not)

To understand how to write good comedy you really need to do this in front of an audience because there you can gauge how the audience responds to your comedy. It is very easy to offend and it is hard to come back from.

Safe comedy is to make fun of yourself, but you still have to be careful here because some people may wince if it's too close to the bone for them.

This is a skill worth developing and if used properly can enhance your site.

Everyone wants to have a bit of a laugh but unfortunately what might be funny to you may not be funny to your audience. This picture is an illustration of that. I don't find it funny at all, lol, (no that was me laughing at my own comment, now that is really sad, give me a break, please...)

Finally we come to some tips that will help you in your content writing.

Wow Michael, you NEVER cease to amaze me. I truly enjoy your writing skills!

Think what helped me most of all when learning to write posts is when I started my personal blog. By then, I already knew enough (from taking Desktop Publishing) to make sure to state my rants so that I would be LESS apt to suffer a lawsuit ... and I learned how to (as you stated) write though speaking to a friend with lots and lots of practice.

So good to see you, Trish, haven't seen you in a while.

That is a huge compliment indeed and I am honoured !

That is a good way to write and it's how you get to be good at this and after all it is the lifeblood of your business.

Thanks for the great tutorial for me as a newbie creating content (quality) has been my toughest challenge so far and has slowed down my progress. It feels like I'm learning the ropes then trying to sell a product (hope that makes sense!) another way to express this feeling it's like I'm required to run before walking.

p.s. I don't think I should attempt to write as a comedian not just yet anyhow.

Cheers

Thanks for the compliment.

You might find this helpful if you feel a bit stuck or demotivated, this is another way of looking at it. I hope this helps you out.

Cheers,
Michael

Great stuff Michael!
One thing I have found to gain trust when writing on certain subjects, mainly opinion pieces, is to make sure that you reference your material at the bottom (web pages, books, articles, and so on) of the page so if one of your readers wants to see whether or not you are worthy of your words.

Keep up the great training!

That is an excellent point, do you mind if I put what you said into my factual writing? Of course I will credit Bertie. :)

Bertie's nicked my bread roll ! He really should pack his own lunch instead of nicking ours. I'm taking it out of his wages. How much does he owe you?

Could you expand on this Greg. What do you mean by "opinion peices"? How do they differ from product reviews?

Certainly.
A product review is when you analyze a product or service with an overview. You write about the good, then the bad (advantage v. disadvantage) and give an educated opinion on the product or service.

An opinion piece is where you write on a certain subject offering your point-of-view whether it being from education or experience.

I hope this helps.

He owes us way to much!!! I don't even think he can get a large enough second mortgage on his hut that he has in the back to cover it.

LOL!

I think the hut was repossessed by the bank.

I was wondering what happened to it. I thought he just moved it to take advantage of more natural light.

You know how fickle Bertie is.........So where is he dwelling now? Has he become roomies with the dog?

He moved back in with his mum, she's not very happy about that, he's an adult.

Let's just hope he doesn't try to revert back to childhood feeding habits.

Listen.......I know I joke around a lot, but I am NOT here. Not with this.

Great content is king and is the MOST important thing in gaining followers and actually turning a hobby of blogging into a Professional Website Online Business.

This is quite simply put........some of the best training I have ever taken and I am a better writer for it. Great training!!

Thank you, my friend.

UGH!!! I was on my laptop for hours and you create this training NOW!!! It looks really good, but it's much too late for me to sink my teeth into it, so I'll star it and go through it this week.

Just on the crusp (did I say that correctly?) of the challenge.....so in retrospect, it's perfect timing......but of course, you already know this, because you're Michael the Magnificent!!!
