Test CTAs (Call to Actions) – And by that I mean different opt-in places on your own website. At top of the page above the fold we know is great, most of us will have widget with our opt-in code there. But have you thought about footer or header scripts? Subscribers can come from almost anywhere so keep an eye on your ad channels and see where your subscribers are coming from.
Again there are loads of plugins that will allow you to show an email form in various points across your blog. I have a few I've tried but to be totally honest I think the best looks like one developed by a smart cookie called Glen. He runs a blog called viperchill.com which is "another place" where you can see the plugin in action and no doubt pick up a copy for yourself!
But the lesson here isn't that you've got to buy yet another plugin. OptinSkin just makes things a whole lot easier and prettier for that matter too IMO. [update] Darn I had to buy it, I'll be adding my first optinskin at the end of some of my blog posts at 'Rated By Tony'... [/update]
Ask people to subscribe - Hey don't laugh, this one's a over looked simple fix. When last did you just ask your readers to subscribe. I'm not on about a link in your author profile box, though that may work as well. I'm talking of just flat out asking someone to sign up slap bang in the middle of your post.
Or asking at the end of the post something like "hey if you enjoyed this post why not subscribe to my blog" with an opt-in form .. known as the reverse squeeze.
Squeeze in your signature link in your emails tell folks what they're missing? Just flat out asking seems a good bet to me.
Offer something valuable - There's often a niggle in the mind of a new online marketer as to what they have to offer that gives their readers value. well there are so many options that I just don't have the space to start getting into where to go to get freebies. But one source that I really like the idea of utilizing sites like www.download.cnet.com. You can get loads of free and very useful software downloads that you can easy bundle up and make a VERY tempting giveaway for your readers.
How valuable is your time? A very under utilized opt-in bargaining chip is that of your time and skills. A 30 minute skype session may seem trivial to you, but to your reader it could be the chance to pick the brain of someone they regard as "an expert" in the field. Creating a free custom graphics set may be something your could offer. Don't restrict yourself by following others. Think outside the box until you come up with something great for your readers they want.
The last and obvious one that I'll mention is creating an eBook. That does sound like a bit of a chore,I know, but when you break it down and mindmap it out you'll have plenty of material to put together a decent eBook in your niche.
As a last resort I suppose you could even give away a PLR report in your niche. For PLR again it's best to go via a buddy's recommendation Tiffany Dow has a very good rep, I've used her free reports from www.plrminimart.com plenty of times.
This is really good thank you so much for this training. Also, I saw the Jaaxy jumping up and down and how the Aweber wound jump out too. Tried to do chat in there and no one was there!
I got to get busy. Thanks again.
