In this video you’re going to learn how to add Adsense ads to an individual post or page.
As usual, there’s a plugin for that. I use Ad Inserter.
So install the plugin, activate it and let’s go.
Make sure to click on Save All Settings every time you make changes or it’s not going to work.
Please don’t have too many ads or your website is going to look spammy. A short post should have one or no ads and a long post may have more.

Thank you! I was about to tear my hair out trying to figure this out. I've been waiting for a week and hadn't heard anything back from Google. I was starting to worry until you mentioned it can take 3 weeks to get the ok from them.

Yes, they say just a few days but it can take weeks before you hear back from them.

Marion, I put my code in the Ad Inserter "header" tap. I found it by accident. I was following your training to the letter, looking at you video, pausing it, while going to my website and doing very thing to the letter. In the Ad Inserter console there is a round button at the end of the blocks. I clicked on it there. Is that a proper place for the header code too? Just curious if I've done the right thing. Thanks.

Also, I noticed that there is an option called 'Automatically smarter ads'. Have you tried that as well?
Another thing - is it mandatory to create new AD Unit for different posts or it is OK to use a single one?

Google controls the ads which appear on the website. They automatically take into consideration the browsing history, interests and location of the viewer as well as the content on your website, and serve ads that they "think" the viewer will click on. You can control whether or not to allow gambling and adult content but that's about the limit of your control. Trust them, they know what they're doing.
Is "Automatically smarter ads" something new? I haven't come across that yet.
I use different ads for different websites so I can see which site is working for me. But there's no reason why you couldn't use the same code for more than one site. There's no need to create different ad units for different posts as the same code can be used everywhere.

Thank you! I figured out that the error is gone when I don't use the plugin but I put directly the script in the post (text editor).Strange behavior...

HI Marion! Great video, thanks so much. My account was disapproved because it says I didn't have enough content. Most of my posts are around 300 words. When I submitted it at first I hadn't set things up like how you just showed us. Do you think that makes a difference? Should I resubmit now that I have set it up as per your video?

The first step with Google Adsense is to get yourself or your company approved by Adsense. The second step is to place an ad in the sidebar widget area. Then you need to wait for Adsense to approve your website. It's only after your website has been approved that you should start putting ads within the posts.

The way I resolve conflicts like this is to look at the actual posts that appear at the top of the search results. Are they all the same number of words? If not, does the actual number of words really matter? Or is the quality of the words more important?

Hi Marion, this doesn't work on my site. I did add the Easy ads plugin, inserted the code in the box, checked all the boxes you said. placed the short code and waited. Got a mail from Google Adsense, Your request has been disapproved for the following reasons. Property rights of the domain: To complete the AdSense approval process, you must link your site to AdSense.
After that, I used the Header and Footer Scripts, placed the script in there, and the script into a widget. Then I received an email from Adsense, your site is approved. And the adsense ad is now appearing in the sidebar.
Until now I kept both plugins, and I don't know whether I can delete the Easy ads plugin safely because I don't want Adsense anywhere else than in the sidebar, I don't need the shortcode inserter anyway.
