Let's Test PageSpeed With Varvy PageSpeed Tool

1/ Click on the link above, if it doesn't work, here is the URL: https://varvy.com/pagespeed/

2/ Once the page opens in your internet browser, in the empty field, type in the URL of your website e.g. eduwreck.siterubix.com, then click on the red Go button.

3/ Once it's loaded and tested the page, there will be several resulting stats, we are only interested in the PageSpeed Score, CSS Delivery, JavaScript Usage and PageSpeed Issues, for the purpose of this tutorial. What we need is a green Tick, Outline or Text with all the stats.

The rest of the tools below these statsare very interesting and you can spend some time going through them, but don't get bogged down with them.

Let's see what these stats look like.

4/ It will look something like the image above. Notice how the stats differ from the previous pagespeed platform.

Take note of the percentage of the results for PageSpeed Score, CSS Delivery, JavaScript Usage and PageSpeed Issues, as we will compare them once we are done tweaking the pages info with plugins.

Now that we know what the Website PageSpeed Is, let's move on to Which Plugins To Install For These Issues

Nicely done Edu!

... particularly given the warnings others had given on the plugins' comments pages. Test the plugin before taking it to your production website.

Great work!

Many thanks Dennis! It ALWAYS good to test it on a wreck site first!

Be very careful with the auto optimization tools, they will basically use min. or less to transfer the code into a better web-speed and size value... As not all wordpress and siterubix codings are ment to be optimized or if you code yourself, you can destroy functionality, accessibility, user experience and content completely.

Take out the main tips that you can follow... thanks for the course by the way.

Keep at it... and always be vigilant

sunny Regards

I previously used auto-optimize which did not work well for me. It increases the speed but has a negative side too.

For example, if you have a Wa comparison table within your content, it appears as the footer.
Thank you for the training.

This is good to know! Thanks for sharing your findings with us. Could you perhaps add your comparison table as a graphic?

I could not keep the plug in anymore. I disabled it.

Here is my blog after my experience. Thanks.

Thanks for your input regarding the use of Autoptimize. What was your whole scenario? Would you care to elaborate for us so that others reading can make their educated decision based on what you and others share? Looking forward to your response.

Yes, see my graphics for before and after. The only one I didn't have for a before was GTMetrix. But you can see the before and after of the others.

I've just done this on my REAL site and it seems to be working fine. I believe one has to be REALLY careful when installing similar plugins. Make sure you don't have a similar plugin installed already, it's GUARANTEED TO CRASH!

If you have any doubt, PM me.
