Million Dollar idea, Living the Dream!

Do You have Friends or Family that tell you that your dreams are silly?

That you'll never make a living as an Affiliate Marketing Professional and that you'll never live the laptop lifestyle traveling the world if you would like to?

Me too!

Imagine their surprise when my son graduates (2 more years of High School) and we set off on our traveling adventure exploring the world starting out in New Zealand and Australia then going where ever that we would like to go.

I have tried many times to talk him into doing it now and that I would home school (Or I should say travel school) him but he has his heart set on graduating High School with his Friends so it'll be sometime in 2019 instead.

Looking on the bright side, that gives us 2 more years to save more for our trip and having more to be able to spend more time together traveling won't be a bad thing at all!

Friends,

I have been earning an income on the internet since 2009 and I still have Friends & Family who are clueless and still say that I'm dreaming :)

Never lose sight of you dreams and remember that just because they can't or won't doesn't hold you back from doing ot!

Tony, I'm also on a two-year track but working hard at making that just one year instead. I don't say much (if anything) to anyone. I'm so excited about WA and what I KNOW it will do for me, but choose to keep it to myself. Thanks for sharing! I hope these next two years go by quickly for both (all) of us.

I don't even talk to anyone in my family about what I am doing because I know that I will be met with all kinds of negativity and pressure to quit "wasting time" pursuing online work. I figure that I'll just keep it all to myself until I can show them the results, although I am sure that even if I start earning $5,000 a month for several months in a row, I'll be told that it won't last.

I don't really blame people for their attitude, however; we are conditioned to be negative and to expect the worst. Most people call it "being realistic," but it's really just a way to protect themselves from being disappointed.

The hardest part is not being able to talk to my wife about this. I would love to share with her, because my main drive for being successful is to provide for my family, but I know that she will not approve.

She has asked me a few times about what I am doing and all I say is that I am "learning online," or "taking courses online." When she asks me if I am paying anything for WA (though she doesn't even know the name) I can't really answer. If I say no, she'll say "it's not a real school then. Anything you learn for free has no value." If I say yes, she'll think I'm being scammed....

I wish I could start earning in order to show her some results, but I know it will take more time. Maybe another year even, though I hope not that long.

I'm really looking forward to being at the level you are at now.

I'm somewhat in the same boat with my husband. I use the money I earn from making leather bound journals, which goes into a separate account of my own and this is how I pay for WA each month. Once I start making money here, I'll feel more comfortable sharing...but for now, it is my little secret. :)

Having a dream and working towards it is half the battle. Being in the hunt is the joy.

There aren't any failures in this, just obstacles to over come.

" I have never failed just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Henry Ford.

"If we don't build our dreams someone else will hire us to help them build theirs."

Nice Tony.

Thanks mate, I really relate to this post and like others here at WA have been regarded as weird or "Dreamin" (as we say in Australia) because of what I do online and aspire to do business wise.

Save your money for the trip and by all means "PM" me when you make it to Western Australia ( Perth or Mandurah) and we will get together and tell some stories.
Cheers
Edward

Thank you for this post! I also have family and friends telling me that only a few people succeed online and are able to make a living off their online businesses. The majority of people are still stuck in the "salary" mentality, and live out their months paycheck to paycheck. As if it's not real money if it doesn't come in the form of a wage provided by an employer!
It's frustrating, but what can you do... just persevere and prove them wrong :)

Good luck with the saving up and preparations, your journey in 2019 will be so memorable!

That is great. It just goes to show you that if you want something bad enough it will come to pass. Good Luck in your future travels. I'm glad your son wants to graduate with his friends there is nothing like having people around to experience and understand what you go through to capture your dreams.

Totally true, I had similar situation where someone was telling me that I will never drive a car, will never work in my life. I don't have lot of money yet, but I have already my driving license and I'm working now. Never let someone get over you. I agree. Thanks for sharing it.

You made me laugh with this: "I have been earning an income on the internet since 2009 and I still have Friends & Family who are clueless and still say that I'm dreaming :)" Eight years later and they are the ones who still don't have a clue! Thanks for the laugh. Congrats on your long-term success.

Hi Tony, I've tried explaining to people that I want to leave my current job to pursue affiliate marketing full time and they look at me like I have 2 heads! Many people are still following the social norms that the only way to be successful is to go to college and then get a job working for someone else. This is antiquated thinking and our job is to educate those people that the internet has changed the way we should look at career success and earning income. I for one will no longer be bounded by this as life is to short to be sitting in a cube for 30 years!

Love this idea, Tony, you can start a travel blog as well, this post is so inspiring, motivating, and uplifting, I must say thank you for sharing it with us.

I have got used to my naysayers now, they prattle on, I have started using earphones, I just smile and nod, they will get the message eventually:-))Steph
