I know that I have and it has happened many times, what bothers me is when we have all of the small talk before. What is it that triggers the best time for them to pitch their MLM(Multi-Level Marketing), network marketing, direct sales company/opportunity?

It also happens so often with people who we meet with online & more every day and we become more visible while networking on the internet.

Believe it or not, I would much rather get the "Opportunity" right in the open, get it out-of-the-way then we can both either decide to either do or don't do business together. After that, then we can also either catch up on old times if we are already friends or if we're not already friends, we can decide whether or not to become friends.

I completely despise the small talk first ....... building a relationship? Give me a break! Most people we don't know, start off with about 4 generic questions then pitch.

I almost always answer with something like ..... I am doing great, how can I help you?

What MLM (Mult-Level Marketing), Direct Sales, Pyramid, Network Marketing etc.... companies have you been pitched?

I'm not saying that all are pyramid schemes, scams, ponzis, etc........ Just that I don't like to beat around the bush.

Let's take care of businesses!

Life is too short & time is way too valuable.

Wouldn't you agree?

That’s the main drawback of MLMs...they FORCE you to begin with your closest circle (friends and family).
I’ve always thought they’d be more successful by providing some qualified leads to get you started and let you build your business from there with referrals.
A much more “level playing field” and better chance to achieve success.

I agree. Life is too short and time is too valuable. I don't like my time wasted.

Agreed

Great article Tony, I always enjoy reading your content. Thank's for sharing.

Oh, Tony, I agree with you 100%. I hate small talk and I always answer a new FB or IG friend with I am fine how may I help you. If they get offened then they don't bother me anymore.

I can't say I do well pitching my business on IG or FB because I don't believe in reeling people in and dropping the bomb.

Just sayin'

Tony,
It has happened more times than I'd like. It's not even worth getting annoyed about since life is too short. Agreed!

Yes, I've been in that situation. I was also a member of an excellent MLM for 10 years, Nikken. I did contact many friends about that business, but hopefully didn't upset anyone too much. I do think I was pretty straightforward about telling them what I wanted.

Not all MLMs are bad news. There are a few good ones. That being said, I am happier with WA at this point, but I did well with Nikken and still regard it as an excellent company with outstanding products. I still use several of them.

Good Morning Fran,

I started with Forever Living Products of America, one of the oldest MlMs in 2004. I worked it steadily for 2 years. Then I made the final account, had not made money but had an interesting time. I still use some of their products which are great. I am a fan of Aloe Vera and it has helped me very much a couple of times in my life.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Yep, I agree with you, Tony. Tell me what's in it for me in a few words, ask if I'm interested, and BE OK with NO!

That last one is the tough part for network marketers. Once a network marketer drinks the KoolAide they can't imagine anyone not being interested.

Go for NO is the best advice I can think of.

Lol Tony so true.
Damn I hate the MLM. took way too much time up for me. The worst is when you realise you are just another product buyer.

Yhep I like the no fuss approach and even if it means catching up with old friends.

It should just fall into place as if we was never apart lol. Life is way too short.

Thats for sure. Great to see you again Tony :)

haha that is different.
