Today's first topic is about a booming niche in the Internet Marketing industries. We are talking about Doom & Gloom, bad news, horror stories, aliens, supernatural, earth changes, weather catastrophes, death and destruction, war, meteorites, Planet X aka Nibiru aka Wormwood, and so much more.
This industry makes millions of dollars each and every year and is still booming in doing better. Just look at TV and many popping up websites, Youtube all about doom and gloom. Why is that? Why do we humans like all of this?
Would you, will you or are you already jumping the bandwagon to take a piece of those millions of dollars joining these niches?

Yes Stefan, doom, gloom and panic are a money game. My first instinct is to opt out, but in truth I'm ready for a small slice of it.
My authority site, https://failsafeisolation.com/fail-safe-isolation was created to address the R/D lab niche, and the need for process isolation glove box units ( I manufacture them ) in the lab. But, I knew I needed more variety and more frequent purchases to keep my niche community interested, so I am addressing some that follow your "doom & gloom" thinking. they are:
- Privacy
- Security (personal, family, business & data)
- Emergency shelter & escape
- Isolation shelter
- Haz-mat gear (gas masks, pressure suits, etc.)
These types of isolation appeal to many types of people, but they really resonate with those who are prone to doom and gloom, doomsday preppers, and people with agoraphobia or other serious fears.
I'd not worked out a strategy to specifically target the fear and ride on shock media coattails, but now you've planted a seed in my thinking...

Yes, video can be powerful, and in the doom & gloom space it can easily connect with emotion. I appreciate video, but I'm slow to do it, since I've 1st hand experience with what GOOD video is, and how much work it is to do one, since I've worked with my wife back when she had a video production business, and we even did a weekly business news magazine for a while.
In the 15 years of manufacturing my own product and selling it with e-commerce, I've only done one video, and that was after a major customer (the Chinese CDC) insisted. http://www.safe-t-dome.com/
Although it has a training feel to it, I still find it a useful sales tool.
I can easily see several ways a video could fit and make an impact. The first that jumps out would be to help interest and close prospects for emergency shelter, panic room or storm-shelter type products. I've looked a bit for a strong merchant with global reach in this space but not bumped into one just yet.
For now my primary existing affiliate program that could benefit is VPN, and that's a little less of a fit for a video, though it too could work. I need to better understand the tech first, then I'll look into it for this sub-niche...

It is shocking how human beings are attracted to doom and gloom, with information overload, each media tries to outdo another and what better way than to scare the mass?
I would go with aliens and panorama but not the negative news. Without the real life horror, there are still lots of interesting unknown stuff out there worth pursuing and if there are millions to be made, then I'm in.
Well look how we grew up as kids, it all starts there. War toys to play with, movies, animations, books and comics about violence, violence in school, wherever you go it is a part of our history. Unavoidable, however I think it is important we do not hide nor runaway from it, but learn from it and find a way to use it to live in a more harmonious way with each other.
Fear is used to scare the mass, first make them afraid, then put themselves up as your savior and all will follow like sheep. I say do not let fear take you over, do not run away from what is happening around you, learn to deal with it and in the process help yourself and others.
So whenever you meet an Alien which looks like a 111 headed Medusa, just stand still and enjoy the moment, very interesting indeed right? :P
Sometimes fear is needed to bring yourself in safety, to protect your life. So use it wisely and learn to decide when fear is real fear and when not. :)
Bring your story out there and sell million of copies. :D
I do love your viewpoint. I remember I have attended a seminar where someone mentioned something about being afraid of ghosts. So the person giving the talk said, what a great opportunity, you can get an exclusive interview with the ghost, something no one has ever managed to achieve and therefore you can cash in on that. It resonates with what you are saying.
Suppose we go through life like that, being fearless and turn a horrible situation to our advantage, wouldn't that be cool? :)
I don't watch the news, and I don't subscribe to any newspaper. The most news I get are from Twitter and Facebook, and I chose which one I wanna see.
All the doom and gloom is a human addiction to the negative, and most of us are addicted. But I chose not to so, no I will pass on these niches and chose more positive outlooks in life :)

Yes I agree with that. Did you know that there are also happy newspapers out there, bringing happy news? Let me know if you are interested and I will write them down here... :))
But you could pickup on a negative niche and bring positivity into it and help in this way. Can be a win win. :) If you are from the US just look at all those weather catastrophes, you could do so much good to help people to be prepared. To help when it happened and over your website people know where to go for help and shelter. Just an idea.... :)
I agree with the first two but I would believe anything I see there before I would believe ANYTHING I read on FB or Twitter. First hand experience is the only thing I believe it.
I have a bumper sticker on my truck that says, In No One We Trust. Sad state of affairs but unfortunately necessary.
It's hard to believe all of 'that' is out there.
I had no idea, and wouldn't be interested in joining no matter how many millions can be made.
Look at my answer on NickV1, you can help many people to prepare and that is a good thing to do. So it all depends how you interpret things and write about it. Turn negative into positive. :D
As a Reporter of The Daily WA it is my job to find out for you what is happening in the IM world. With this info you are able to see new markets or getting ideas to help you making more money out there. It is up to you what you do with the information. I respect your standpoint to involve yourself with other niches.
Look, warning people about weather catastrophes and making sure they have survival kits at home is a good thing, you can help people with this, just think of it.... :)
I don't think this is something that I would get into. It's not something that interests me, so it would be difficult to blog about it.
Hey a new dooming niche, it is doom and gloom having people like you as all those doomers and gloomers cannot make money on you. :P
Btw, do you have a surviving kit in your house? What if a tornado strikes,or a weather catastrophe, are you prepared? If yes then you bought it from a doomer and gloomer probably without knowing it. :P
Ah...now I understand. You have to understand there are two types of survivalist. Those that doom & gloom and ones, like me, that want to be prepared in the case of a emergency.
That being said my niche is becoming self-sufficient, which also caters to the both of these groups, as well as, people that want to eat better food, be more in-control of the lives and futures, and not have to just except the status quo.
I have partnerships with companies that have excellent air purification technology.
And I have partnerships with companies that have boiler technology driven by carbon emissions of 0%. Based on these items, I plan to do marketing around the world.
I think that the product is related to the above topic.
Sounds very doomy to me to hear our air is so much poisoned, with what? Chem-trails? Do we need to get worried, please tell us, what do you know?

these are all excellent suggestions. I don't know that I would have a website on those topics, but I do believe in the paranormal. Maybe I should reconsider???

It's been with us forever doom and gloom. Why people are attracted to it is beyond me. Maybe somebody can come up with a positive approach to doom and gloom and make millions.
