Hello Everyone

I have been a bit quiet and less active on Wealthy Affiliate over the last couple of weeks and you are probably wondering where I have been. I mentioned at the end of my last blog post that I have been sick which is the reason I have been quiet and less active on Wealthy Affiliate.

Today I wanted to write blog post to explain exactly what has happened and when I will be back to my usual activities on WA as well as with my online business. Before I get started I wanted to say that this post contains some themes related to illness and suffering which may be upsetting or triggering for some readers. For this reason reader discretion is advised.

It's ok and I understand if you can't or don't want to read this blog post. I just wanted to let you know the themes included in this blog post so you are not upset or triggered unexpectedly. With that out of the way let's get into this blog post and discuss where I have been and what's been happening with me when I will be back to my usual activities on WA and with my online business.

The Virus

Almost 2 weeks ago I started getting sick and prior to that I had a cough for a few days and then I started getting a lot sicker. I have the symptoms of some kind of virus but I'm not sure what virus I have. There are a lot of flus and viruses going around here in Queensland at the moment so I don't know exactly what I have got.

It has taken it's toll on me and the main symptoms I have are cough, sore throat, sneezing, nasal congestion, headaches, a low grade fever, feeling hot and cold, sometimes a bit of nausea and diarrhea, tiredness, weakness and loss of energy. I wanted to include this to give you an idea of how I'm feeling and why I have been taking things easy.

Most of my symptoms have eased but I still have the cough, sore throat, headaches and the tiredness, weakness and loss of energy. I have been so tired and week that I spent a few days in bed sleeping all day and only getting up for a few hours at night which was slow and I still didn't feel like getting out of bed.

I'm a little bit better now than I was last week but I still have those lingering symptoms I mentioned above. The tiredness, weakness and loss of energy is effecting me the most. For a few days last week I struggled to do basic tasks after getting out of bed like getting something to eat and having a shower but I still did it all slowly.

The Lowest Point

At one point I was also struggling to do things on my laptop because I was so tired. For example I remember for a couple of days last week it took me about 2 hours just to check my email which is something that usually takes me about 30 minutes when I'm not sick due to my laptop being old and slow.

I have never felt this tired and weak in my life. I have been sicker than this before but never this tired and weak. When I wrote my last blog post I felt a bit better that day and had some of my energy back so I was able to spend some more time online. Some days I feel better and some days I feel worse again.

I haven't touched my website in about 2 weeks which is worrying me because I'm now failing my goal of being consistent and posting at least 1 post per week which I was doing before I got sick and this lack of consistency is probably hurting my website and SEO but I don't have the energy to work and write content at the moment.

As for Wealthy Affiliate I have still been making the effort to login at least once per day no matter how hard it is or how sick I was feeling. I mainly just checked my notifications and responded to any followers, comments or messages I had. My WA rank has changed slightly because of this inactivity but today I had enough energy to write this blog post thankfully.

I have been eating and drinking normally most of the time since I have been sick which is the only good thing that has happened since I have been sick. I haven't seen a doctor about my virus yet because it usually takes a few weeks to get into see my GP and even with urgent cases they don't always put me in straight away.

But I plan to speak to a nurse on the phone if I'm not any better by the end of the week and if I'm still sick in a week or two I plan to make an appointment to see a doctor. In the meantime I will keep getting plenty of rest and hopefully I will get better soon.

My Mental Health

Aside from the virus that is still effecting me my mental health has also declined again the last couple of weeks. For those of you that don't know I have anxiety, depression and childhood trauma. I'm currently seeing a psychologist over the phone via telehealth every 4 to 6 weeks.

About 4 weeks ago I was doing quite well because I recovered from the colds I had all winter and my mental health was improving to. But for some reason that I can't explain my mental health started getting worse again and it's like I took one step forward and two steps back because I have been suffering bad anxiety, sadness and some very dark thoughts.

I don't know what caused this as when I get sick my anxiety usually is a bit worse than usual but my mental health started to decline in the days leading up to the virus hitting me. At one point last week I reached point of being inundated with flashbacks of the past, feelings of a lot of rage and anger inside me and then something that hasn't happened for a while happened again.

I found myself sitting on the couch asking myself is it all worth fighting for? Why does it all seem so hardcore? I questioned my purpose in life, why I keep suffering so much and started to feel like a failure again and that I will never succeed with anything in life including with my online business.

But after having this mindset for 2 or 3 days I finally started to feel a bit better mentally and I'm not quitting anything. This has happened before so I knew these feelings would pass like they always do so I just hung in there and distracted myself by spending most of time watching TV or playing my favourite games on my PS4 when I wasn't eating, checking things on my laptop or sleeping.

Over the last couple of days I'm feeling a bit better and I had an appointment yesterday with my psychologist on the phone. I still get the bad thoughts popping into my head throughout the day but not as bad as few days ago like I mentioned above. I'm a bit better physically and mentally than I was a few days ago but I still have a while to go before I'm fully recovered.

When things get tough people say hang in there it will get better but that's easier said than done. I have been hanging in there the best I could and I will just have to ride out the storm because that's all I can do.

My Next Steps

Even though I have been feeling quite bad and sick I have a clearer head today and I know what I want to. For now I will be focusing on getting better from this virus. I will continue to rest and this means that I will continue to be quiet and less active on WA and online in general for the next week or two at least but it could take longer.

I'll be inactive on WA for most of tomorrow to. I did shopping last Friday and tomorrow I have to go shopping again because I need a few things and I need to go to the post office and do a couple of other things while I;m in town to so I will be out for most of the day but I will check Wealthy Affiliate in the morning before I got if I can.

But I will definitely login and check things on WA at the end of the day when I'm home and have rested for a bit. After tomorrow I will continue resting and as I said before I will be quiet and less active on WA for the next week or two but possibly longer depending on how long it takes for me to get and better be able to start getting back into things.

So if I'm quiet or take longer to respond to you than I usually do it means I'm either resting, sleeping or I'm offline for some other reason like I'm doing tasks around the house, watching TV or playing a game on my PS4. But don't worry I will make sure to respond to you within 24 hours at the most.

Even though I'm sick I'm still committed to WA and I still care about my followers and the WA community which is why I wanted to make this blog post today and not put it off any longer to let everyone know what's going on and where I have been. I will make another blog post to keep everyone updated and let you know when I'm feeling better.

But I have no idea when my next blog post will be as that depends on when I have enough energy to write a blog post again but it won't be for at least a few days or possibly longer than that. So if I don't post a blog post on WA for a while it means I'm still sick and I don't have the energy to write a blog post or do much else online.

Once I feel better and recover from the virus I have got I will get back into things as normal. I will be active again on WA like I normally am and I will be working on my online business again to and keep writing blog posts consistently on there to. I need to take things easy at the moment and focus on getting better but rest assured that I will be back on WA as normal as soon as I'm feeling better.

I'm not quitting as I still have a passion for phones, computers and all things technology that drives me and motivates me to be on WA and also keep working on my website and online business. No matter how hard it gets I won't quit and I will achieve the success I want one day.

It's going to take more than a virus and mental health issues to get rid of me and make me quit. Having an online business is what I want and it is right for me so I'm not going anywhere and I will be here on WA and working on my online business for many years to come.

Conclusion

In conclusion the virus I have got and my mental health have taken it's toll on me and I will be taking things easy for the next week or two but possibly longer depending on how long it takes for me to start feeling better. I have never felt this tired and weak in my life but I will get through this and I will be back on my Wealthy Affiliate as normal and continue working on my online business as normal when I'm feeling better.

Before I end this blog post I wanted to say thank you very much if you read all of this blog post. Being a part of Wealthy Affiliate means a lot to me and more than many people know which is why I'm always here to help everyone however I can. I would also like to thank Kyle, Carson and all the Wealthy Affiliate community for being amazing and for all of your kindness and support you have shown me.

Wealthy Affiliate is where I want to be and it really is the best affiliate marketing and online business platform in the world. That concludes this blog post about how illness has taken hold of me as well as why I have been quiet and where I have been. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say about what I discussed in this blog post in the comments and I look forward to talking to everyone soon. Thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments.

Hi there, Tim.

You are not alone. You have the entire WA community at your back. I empathize with you. From my own experience, I know how devastating a physical or mental setback can be. So, hang in there, there are brighter days ahead.

This is the gift of the Wealthy Affiliate community. Someone is always there; when you need them most. Take time to invest in your self-care routines - give your body the nutrition, rest, and relaxation it needs. Drink plenty of water for hydration, and reach out to close family and friends.

Also, keep in touch with your primary care team. They have amazing resources to share with you. In addition, self-help articles can be helpful and you can share your knowledge with others.

All the success, health and wellness to you.

Absolutely, Tim.

I have been in the trenches of despair so I know exactly what this feels like. Try to put your worries on an imaginary conveyor belt and let them roll. You got this, Tim. You are not alone, my friend.

Please take care, Timothy.
It is times like these that our bodies are telling us to get rest and heal. Listen to your body.

I understand how it feels, to want to do things but cannot because of an illness or disease. I have learned to not stress myself over it. To take things easy. Be gentle on myself. And do things when ready.

Hi Timothy. I'm new to WA and just saw your blog. I'm so sorry to hear of your physical and mental difficulties. It's difficult to maintain a healthy mental state while you're feeling so ill. I hope you retain a vibrant health in all ways so you can get back to doing what you love. Prayers for a complete recovery. Ellen

I usually watch a baseball or hockey game on TV if I get ill, and it takes my attention away from my aches and pains for a while.

Hope you feel better soon.

I wanted to bold the last three words (FOR A WHILE), because I do no want it to become a habit.
