Hi everyone!

I've done it again! My Medium article has reached #1 on the first page of Google Search Results.

(#1 on 1st Page, not counting sponsored links)

The link to my Medium post is not sponsored; it is organic.

Additionally, two other pieces of content have made it to the same first page.

(2nd content, from Facebook, also on same 1st Page)

(3rd content, video from my YouTube channel, also on same 1st Page)

I'm thrilled and wanted to share this fantastic news with all of you.

A huge shoutout and thanks to the amazing training at Wealthy Affiliate that made this possible.

(Screen shot of the full 1st page showing all 3 content ranking on the 1st Page)

Note: The screen shot was done using the InPrivate mode on Edge Browser. :)

I wish everyone good health!

Tim

Good morning Tim,

Well done, that's great news! I'm based in the UK and I just put your search term into Google and it showed your post in the same position. It's amazing what can be achieved when we take action!

Out of interest, Tim, have you used LinkedIn at all? I quite like LinkedIn and should really use it more, but I haven't got as far as using Medium yet. I definitely think that LinkedIn is a good tool and probably underrated.

Have a fantastic day and well done.

Roy

Good morning from Singapore, Roy! :)

Thank you. I'm thrilled and appreciative to learn that my post has maintained its position even in the UK. Yay!

Years ago, I posted on LinkedIn while operating a digital marketing agency. My goal was to post articles to raise awareness of my agency, increase website traffic, and boost sales.

However, the outcomes were disappointing. The readership was low, and it seemed that even people within my network (I have 3,368 connections on LinkedIn) weren't reading the articles.

From that experience and my engagement on the platform, I've observed that people use LinkedIn primarily for business networking or job hunting, rather than for information gathering.

I'm not suggesting that this is the case for everyone on LinkedIn or that it represents the overall culture. It's simply been my personal experience with the platform.

That said, it's been over a decade since then. Perhaps it's time to give it another shot?

If you decide to try it out on LinkedIn, please share how it goes for you.

I wish you success and good health.

Tim

Good morning Tim,

I was just thinking about where you are located; now I know!

I agree with you; it's interesting to know where a post or page is ranked across the world.

That's interesting about LinkedIn, Tim, I thought the results may have been better. However, I believe that LinkedIn has changed quite a bit over the last few years; I don't know if it's worth you trying again. Just a thought.

I must admit that LinkedIn does seem to be very heavy on the people looking for jobs, etc. and asking me to post jobs, even though I don't have any jobs to post! However, on the other end of the scale, I see people who use LinkedIn regularly and it appears they get the results, or at least that's the feeling I get. Once again, I could be wrong.

It's always interesting to hear what people's experiences are on particular platforms. I believe that some niches work better or more effectively on different platforms.

I think you probably should give it another shot on LinkedIn, Tim.

For some reason, I have always liked LinkedIn. I think this is probably because I find it far more professional than most of the social media networks. Although I do very much like Twitter, especially since Elon Musk has taken it over, Twitter is very quick and easy to use.

There was a stage about 18 months ago when I was using LinkedIn a lot more and I was gaining traction. However, if I'm honest, I drifted from it, not deliberately, but I feel I should be using LinkedIn a lot more.

I will let you know how I get on, as I am going to try and use LinkedIn more.

Have a great weekend and keep up the great work.

Roy

Good morning, Roy,

Sorry for the late reply; I've been busy teaching night classes over the past week!

Thanks for your thoughtful message. I've been using LinkedIn too, but mostly just visiting occasionally to share my blog posts. I haven't really gotten into writing and publishing blog posts on that platform for a while, so it still feels more like a place for business networking and job hunting to me rather than a spot for gathering information.

I do recognize LinkedIn may have evolved, and maybe I haven't noticed it. So, I might give publishing posts on LinkedIn a try again, but for now, I'm too busy growing my website and working on Medium. LinkedIn could be in the mix eventually, but probably not right now.

I'd love to hear how things go for you on LinkedIn if you give it another shot. I’m sure many others, including me, would be interested in your experience.

I wish you good health and success. :)

Tim

Good morning Tim,

That's no problem at all, I know what it's like at times!

I guess there is only so many platforms that we can go on, Tim and we have to prioritise and use the platforms at work for us. Posts certainly get noticed on LinkedIn, but I also think it's one of those things you have to do regularly, which is no different to any other platform.

For some reason, LinkedIn seems to like to promote jobs a lot, but I and many other LinkedIn members use it to promote our products, etc.

I have posted a few posts on the Wealthy Affiliate platform about LinkedIn that were some time ago. I will try an experiment again with LinkedIn and document my experience, etc.

Wishing you a fantastic we can all the best.

Roy

Hello Roy,

Indeed, there are numerous platforms for promotion. It's crucial to identify the ones that are most effective for our businesses.

It's encouraging to know that posts are gaining attention on LinkedIn and that the WA community here utilizes it for product promotion. I'll certainly consider adding it to my promotional toolkit, albeit not immediately. Once I do and observe positive outcomes, I'll make sure to share my experiences here. :)

Absolutely, the digital landscape is ever evolving. Sharing your recent experiences with LinkedIn in this domain, following your experiments with the platform, would be beneficial for all here, including me. :)

I wish you good health and success!

Tim

Good morning Tim,

Just for your interest, I carried out a search for your post and it is still up there on page one; it's actually at position four on page one.

I think we have to remember that different things work for different people and it can also depend on the niche. For example, if you were selling luxury furniture, Facebook probably would not be the type of platform to promote your furniture.

I have had more opportunities come out of LinkedIn than any other platform, Tim. You could say that's quite something, as I am active on it, but nowhere near as active and consistent as I should be, by a long way. That kind of suggests something good.

I will try and document my story once I get going on LinkedIn.

Have a fantastic day.

Roy

Good morning Roy,

Oh, the ranking dropped a little then. But that's ok. It is still on 1st page. Also, these days I don't expect our posts to stay at #1 spot for long. If it can be on the 1st page for some months, I will be happy.

I did check traffic on Google Site Kit plugin. It seems I am getting traffic from Medium to the related article.

Interesting that you had more opportunities from LinkedIn. I have 3,000+ followers there and every day I have people on LinkedIn checking out my profile. So, maybe I should start using LinkedIn, add posts instead of sharing links to my posts from my website. Will try this in 2025 and see how it goes.

Look forward to your LinkedIn adventure. :)

i wish you good health and success.

Tim

Good morning Tim,

I don't know if it makes a difference as it's a Black Friday offer, I believe it could do, Tim. But the great thing is you did well to get it where you did, which is fantastic.

I remember when LinkedIn was new, it arrived before Facebook and all the other social media platforms. For some reason, we seem to hear Facebook this, Facebook that and so on, but I don't think people realise the power of LinkedIn!

I spent quite a bit of time on Wealthy Affiliate, I enjoy reading some of the blog posts and responding to comments, etc. But realistically, I probably ought to dedicate more time to LinkedIn as it would probably be more fruitful.

Let's see what 2025 brings and let's try and document our progress, etc.

Have a fantastic day.

Roy

Fantastic news to hear Tim!! Keep up the awesome work and progress buddy!! :-)

👍🙏

Thanks, buddy! :)

I will do that. Now that I know I can get my Medium posts on 1st page of Google Search, I will write more. More posts on 1st page = more traffic = more sales :)

Tim

That's the way to do it buddy!

Find what works then rinse and repeat! :-)

Great work Tim

Thank you, Catherine :)

Tim

Nice work Tim on the rankings! :)

Thank you, Kyle :)

And thank you and the WA team. The training truly helped with getting my posts ranked. :)

Tim

Good job, Tim!

I hope it converts to referrals for you.

Thank you, Howard :)

To be frank, it didn't perform as expected during Black Friday. However, the post remains as long as Medium exists. You never know what the future holds. The link will continue to direct visitors to WA through my affiliate link.

Another reason for my excitement is the proven success of this approach. It's the second time (out of three articles I've written on Medium) that I've ranked on the first page.

Hence, my strategy is to write more, increase visibility on more first pages, and ultimately, drive more traffic and referrals.

Sound strategy, right? :)

Tim

Any methods outside of just SEO are a good thing.

We each have to pick what works best and that we can consistently stick with.

Way to go, Tim. Congrats!

Be healthy!

Maxine :)

Thank you, Maxine :)

I wish you good health too.

Tim

🙂✨️✨️

That's great Tim. Question: are you able yo put links directly to WA on your medium articles or do you have to link to anpist on your website that then links to WA?

Thank you, Mark :)

I put the WA link in Medium. You can see it in my post there - https://medium.com/@timotheuslee/unlock-wealthy-affiliates-ai-tools-black-friday-sale-2024-3e6ef6041e90

Tim

Congrats!!!

Thank you, Bimby :)
