Hi, I've just written a knew post here https://themaninrags.com/Acategory/the-formula-for-getting-rich but when I click on the read more tag it doesn't seem to open the content

O.k So I think I've solved the problem, not through any special insight, but just dumb luck.
Because the trouble seemed to revolve around the pathway and destination functions, I messed around with my permalinks settings and changed them from standard to 'post name', and it seems to have done the trick. Not sure if this was obvious and I am a muppet or if it was quite complex. Either way I am happy and i'll run with it. Thank you so much to Chrissie and Sean for your replies. It's so nice to have the support :)

My pleasure. Glad you fixed it. Sometimes this trial and error method is how we learn. Good to know

Thank you Chrissie, but I have done all this previously. I chose a static page, with a blog page for my posts. Everything is fine until I publish my post. My theme automatically incerpts a read more tag (even when I try to disable the option everywhere I can, as well as when I select the option under reading to display the full text) and when I click on the read more tag it does take me to my blog page but with the read more tag still in place and my content still not revealed. From there it just continues in an endless loop.
Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it!

Hmmm... Interesting. Yes... does the same for me.

The hyperlink for the button points to the same URL as the page itself, which would explain why it does what it does. What is the URL for the full article?

Thank you so much Sean. Now how on earth do I fix it? Got me scratching my head. Looks like I've got some learning ahead of me. Cheers for your quick reply.

I assume this Dress Code page is your blog? If so, I'd be going through my fields for that particular post. Also, have you set your blog page up in the Wordpress settings (the field called 'Posts Page' under Settings - Reading)? If Dress Code is the blog then this should be set to that page by selecting it using the drop down for that field in the settings. Hope that helps? :-)

First of all, Thanks Sean, I really appreciate your help.
I'm not sure what the url is. The permalink for the post is https://themaninrags.com/A rags to riches guide/rule-number-1, but that just takes me to the same page. Dress Code is just a post category. Sorry for being stupid, but I don't understand what going through my fields even means. I,ve been into settings, reading previously, maybe I've done something wrong, I'll try again. Cheers.

I have a blog page set up to receive posts. All set up under reading. I think you have identified the problem area for me, it's to do with the url. Now I just have to solve it...
