I hate pop-ups
OK, the word “hate” is a little strong, but I really don’t like those pop-ups that block your screen when you’re trying to get some work done and make progress.
I don’t mind the “exit” pop-ups so much, because they pop up as I’m leaving. But the pop-ups that show up “on load”, are obnoxious as hell.
I’m on a mission, trying to get some work done, and then a pop-up blocks my screen essentially forcing me to read this update.
What are your thoughts on these pop-ups?

Absolutely hate pop ups very distracting, many time I get them because I use a lot of free links and apps and that seems to me to open you up to lots of unwanted pop ups or that seems to be the case .
I know how you feel about those never ending pop ups as they can be annoying. It just never stops no matter how many times you will click the "X" button that is on the top right corner.
So now what is the real solution to the problem? 🤔

The solution to this pop up problem is to “educate marketers” that pop ups could possibly lose customers.
And unless they are absolutely certain that the popup is welcome and of interest, it might irritate a customer enough to leave the page, platform or community.
This really depends on what the popup is promoting. If it’s relevant to the user immediate interest, it might be welcomed.
If it’s another push to upgrade, it might be irritating. If it’s a push to check out another post or training it will depend on if the user is currently interested in that topic. If not, it’s another irritating distraction.
I think an Exit PopUp could be less irritating because the user is done with their search for what they are looking for.
So… popups should be used sparingly and best be relevant to what the users are presently looking for.
Perhaps AI will be able to detect a users desire and deliver a relevant popup to the users focus and desires.
Good Luck 🍀

I LOVE pop-ups!
Why?
Because I get to learn how others are making mistakes with them.
Yeah sure, they are an inconvenience. But if you look at them subjectively - a LOT can be learned from them.
I have a burner email address in which I subscribe to popups and see how they work their funnel and have learned a plethora of tactics of what to do and what not to do.
Inconvenience can equal opportunity..
