I have a slider on my website but it does not show up on mobile. Is there a way to fix that?

Hey Nicolas,

Your theme developer was probably thinking of your mobile users experience and wanting your website to load quicker thus created a "if mobile device detected, don't load slider".

Is your website PageSpeed for mobile excellent?

Hope you find this helpful.

The speed is great, but its also in the very early development stages. Working this theme has been a challenge, but I think it will pay off. If there is no way to get the slider on mobile, I'll just have to create additional content thats mobile friendly

Have you check other themes yet, to see if one of theirs works in mobile devices? See screen print below...

Have you tired to Google search your theme something like the following:
[You Theme Name Here] - slider not working in mobile devices

Great question and great answers

Noted that

hey hi Nicolas ....

good question .... Abie's got it for you ....

the latest recommended mobile friendly or responsive mode theme is: Generate Press ....

hope it all works out well for you, cheerio ... :)

Thanks, I used Generate Press upon building my first site here, as it was the one given during the free trial time. I go back and update it from time to time, but in this one I'm using the VW Medical Theme.

... we're always learning something new ... and i looked up the WordPress VW Medical Theme and it seems pretty good:

".... this WordPress theme is fully responsive, cross-browser compatible, translation ready and social media integrated. Its welcoming homepage slider is impactful to gain visitors’ trust to opt your services. Its SEO is sure to improve site’s search engine rank. VW Medical Care is based on the latest WordPress version and offers many ways for customization. It does not require any previous coding knowledge and can be handled by a novice like a pro."

from the description and that it is 'fully responsive' means that it is mobile friendly ...

so suggest you might want to test any thing new in a 'sandbox' as Jay has mentioned during various webinars or what is coined as a 'test site' to see the effects as a trial run before you do anything substantive with your website ... and of course, remember to back up your actual website before any changes ...

wish you all the very best for every Success, cheerio ... :)

Yes, make sure your theme is responsive i.e. mobile friendly.

I'd like to have a section on my site for funny videos. If I use videos from different sources, such as YouTube, how can I add those to my site? Is that legal?

There are ways to add them with the html code.
Watch what Diane posted for you.

Hi Nicolas, there are some ways you can add a video to your site. Implementing a Video Sharing Site rather than hosting the video file straight away on your website. In addition, you can upload it to a video sharing site such as YouTube, see the embed code (the HTML code) for that video, insert it into your web page. Regards, Florentino.

Hi - you can use any video from YouTube, if it has the "share" option under it. However, too many videos can slow your website down. Take a look at the correct way to add them.

How do I create a video list offering for my wesite?

I'd like to add a background photo in the Header/Title section of my website. It looks plain to me. I'd like for the photo to expand the whole length of the header. Any suggest

Usually, you should be able to edit and upload a background photo by going to the customize section of your website. in this area, you will have the option to customize the header of your website.

I hope this helps and all the best. :)

Hi there,

In your Appearance > Customise screen your theme may give you the option to do this. Look for a tab that refers to the 'Header'

If it doesn't, it will require some CSS styling that you can add to the additional customisations tab at the bottom of the Appearance > Customise screen.

Happy to help out with the CSS if that's necessary, and if you like, but I'll need to know your site - you can PM me the link if you want to go that route.

Cheers,

Martin.

I have a widgets option under the header customize area, but nothing to make a photo expand the width of the background. the site is https://stacksfromyourjack.siterubix.com/ It's all a work in progress while I'm advancing through the training

You need to look for something that refers to 'header background'.

It may offer you only colour options, but if they offer a background image option then you need to paste the URL of your image there.

Be aware, though, that it will need to be a fairly clean image in order not to clash with your WA banner on the right, as that is within the header.

If that option doesn't exist you will need to apply some CSS, as I said earlier.

Cheers,

Martin.

Sorry, I should add that your image will need to be at least 1250px wide.

Cheers.

It depends on the theme you are using. Please let us know what theme you are using.

Keyword, Niche and Market Research

There are several niches that produce large income amounts, and if I read enough about them, I could likely produce content in that area. Although some of those areas are not i

I have tried this before and it has always failed. From an emotional standpoint, it just felt like "work." I actually love online marketing.
It's like a problem solving game for me, so if it's not fun, I have trouble doing it.

However, here are the two largest practical reasons targeting niches I didn't care about did not work for me:

1. The time it takes to learn about the subject matter enough that I could write quality content. I'd get hung up on defining a term or trying to figure out how to explain something. I would spend hours writing the most basic content. If it's not something you are already interested in, you probably will have to learn a lot about it to sound like an expert.

2. Competition. As Dale123 mentions below, most legit high-dollar niches have strong competitions. Just like they have with you, other people are drawn to those commissions. This makes even more critical to have awesome content, which runs into the research issue. You may find the perfect keywords, but if it's something expensive like TVs you're not only competing against other affiliates, you're competing against Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, etc. They have tons of money to throw at ad dollars.

My current site is taking on a very competitive niche. It's tough. I'm not used to waiting 2 months for page 1 rankings. However, I at least know the content inside and out. I spend 2-3 hours each post thinking of new ways to present the content and researching on Jaxxy. So if you decide to do it, I would suggest thinking of "outside the box" content to market the item.

Those are definitely two things to consider. I appreciate the well thought response. I'm sort of trying to split myself into different people. One who writes about what he cares about, and the other who seeks to capitalize on trending topics. Although I may not be passionate about the topics, I am passionate about the "end game."

I would say, if you mix it with things you are passionate about then it's easier to deal with. One of my first Niches with acne and although it's over 20 years ago the very name acne makes me feel sick. I wrote approaching 800 articles on the subject. They were very lucrative it was a great niche. However, the only reason I could continue and get into that momentum was by writing About things I loved as well

Niches that have higher spends, have higher competition - so it balances out.

Rather than trying to tackle a highly competitive niche it's easier just to target lesser competitve niches, and build out more sites as you gain momentum.

Making it easy for yourself is something I actually hadn't considered. I do have to consider the amount of work I'll have to put in to make it official. Good comment!

Hi - if you are confident you can write a 100 high-quality posts of at last 1000 words each, without getting bored of the subject or finding that the research is too time-consuming, then you could try it. You will need to convince your readers that you are enthusiastic about the topic.

Remember, only one niche per website. Maintaining more than one website by adding content to it on a regular basis can be challenging.

Understood. Although I haven't been on this platform for very long, it just seems that the possibilities here are endless, and with a 50-website limit, I figure the chances of financial success will be greater with multiple websites.

No, you don't. Pick a niche you are passionate about.

I have a few that i'm passionate about, and I'm always writing content for them, whether I publish it or not. But does a store owner only sell the products he uses? Does a BMW salesman only drive BMWs? Although I enjoy writing content about my interests, should I ignore an opportunity to earn? I have 3 jobs in which I make hourly wages, and I'm pretty good at them. But I'm not particularly passionate about them. Does that mean I quit?

Hi,

I will ask you this: do you want to be your online business the 4th job you are not particularly passionate about? I assume you want to start something you like very much and in the long run earn an income so that you can quit one (or all) of these jobs.
But maybe my assumption is misplaced...
As Diana said, if you are confident about writing for that niche and convince them you are enthusiastic about that topic. Then I say go for it. :-)

All the best,

Luc

Makes a lot of sense to stick to your niche when you put it in that perspective. I definitely don't want this journey to feel like another "job."
