I got an email from Amazon and need to share it. I will also share the response from the Lasso Platform.

The Email from Amazon

Dear Creator,

We appreciate your participation in the Amazon Associates Program / Amazon Influencer Program and the valuable role that associates and influencers like yourself play in shaping the customer experience.

During a recent review of your account, we found that your account may be giving a third party, including vendors or reporting systems like Get Lasso, access to program content as a secondary owner on your account. This is a violation of the Operating Agreement terms and conditions which say “You will not disclose Confidential Information to any third party (other than your affiliates bound by confidentiality obligations).”

We have removed the secondary owner from your store on your behalf. Please do not re-add this creator as a secondary owner or you risk your account being closed.

There is no additional action required on your part.

Thank you,
Amazon Associates / Influencer Program

The Email From Lasso

Hi there. Thanks for sharing that with us, we are completely aware of this and allow me to explain the situation.

After a lot of back-and-forth with Amazon, they have suddenly put their foot down and deemed Lasso as conflicting with one of Amazon's operating agreements with Associates users, as it relates to Performance Analytics reporting.

This means that Lasso is no longer able to provide Amazon reporting inside Performance so we're pausing the feature to avoid any further action by Amazon.

You might have received an email from Amazon Associates about this, stating that the @getlasso.co email addresses have been removed from Reports access. You shouldn't add them again and we won't be accessing your Associates account any longer.

👉 Everything else with Lasso is working normally, which includes regularly pulling Amazon product information via the Amazon PA API to show on your Amazon product links & displays.

This is a separate process that Amazon explicitly provides as an API for us to hook into, causing no adverse affects on your product links or displays inside our plugin.

To be able to access your Amazon clicks/revenue data and bring it into Performance, we relied on using a 'Reports user' access to your Amazon Associates account. It seems that Amazon has deemed it that we were using Administrator access to accounts to do this, which wasn't the case, but we're not ones to argue with Amazon and we've suspended this feature.

We'll look into alternative methods for Amazon reporting in the future. We'd ideally like to stay away from users having to do CSV uploads, but we'll go that route if that's what it takes to stay compliant but allow our users to benefit from Amazon data inside Performance. Let us know if you think that would still be useful for you. Performance will still work beautifully with all our other integrations.

If I can clarify anything or help with other questions to ease concerns, do let us know. 🌵

The Conclusion

Say Farewell to Performance Analytics for now or for good, either way it is a no-no and they cannot do it anymore. If you do not use the Performance feature, you will be fine going forward, but if you actually used the performance feature, you will now have to do without it.

Michael

This is kinda upsetting as it was a handy feature I used daily.

Good morning Kyle,

Thank you for your latest update, it's appreciated.

I must admit the brand-new home page looks nice and clean and straightforward, which I like. Once again, I know that you have been working hard to make the process as easy as possible.

I really do like the idea of being able to search for a business idea; I'm sure that's very helpful for people who do not know which niche to go into.

You have created some nice backdrops, Kyle, but even without the backdrop, the page looks nice and clean and straightforward.

I like the new module page, which once again looks clean and straightforward. The timer has to be a good idea! It helps members to take action.

I like the idea of having the community below the hubs. I didn't see the value of the community properly until after I joined the platform. So it's great that people can potentially reap the benefits of community experience in helping others, etc.

Once again, I can see that you are putting huge amounts of efforts into making the starter experience as smooth as possible, Kyle.

Have a great weekend.

Roy

Excellent Comment Roy! But I believe you meant to post this on the "Beer With Kyle" Thread.

Either way, it was a good read and I agree with you!

Michael

Thank you, Michael, my sincere apologies!

You are 100% right, I will copy it over there.

Thank you so much for letting me know, I do appreciate it.

Have a great weekend.

Roy

No worries. Was a good comment.

Wow! Glad I never used this feature. I have a 3 site subscription for another year.

Thanks,

Teri

It sucks, really; the feature was awesome.

Michael

I knew it! Good thing I never signed up with Amazon or use Lasso but GetLasso took $20 from me, they refuse to give it back so I let it go. I took it as a loss and let it go. I was not going to argue with this New Jersey guy Andrew who is hard nosed about it.

Lasso as a whole is good, this is their flagship analytic tool that worked very well. It may be too good for Amazon to get jealous of it.

Michael

Well it’s plausible. Amazon is a stickler for catching people that violates their rules no different from Google. Anything to squash other competitors is the goal that these monopoly businesses do! Mom and pop chain stores cant compete with Amazon’s largest online retailer. They get squashed! Thats the point of it all.

Exactly. This is a fair and very good point!

Michael

Thanks, Mike. Honestly, I'm not too fond of the feel Lasso gives a post, so I have decided to let my subscription lapse. I'm not certain that Lasso has hurt me, but I know it hasn't helped.

To each his own as it goes. It is helpful on one of my sites, but I use other programs on the others. I have never had an issue until Amazon changed the rules in their favor once more. Amazon is infamous for this maneuver.

Michael

They don't need us, for sure.

That is surely how they behave at times. And probably why their Chinese competitor Aliexpress is growing so rapidly.

Thanks for sharing, Michael!

Sure thing Howard. Have a Good Day!

Michael

Thank you, Sir! Happy Friday to you!

Happy Friday!

Thanks for the heads up, Michael! 😎

Anytime Frank. Good Day to You!
