Who Wouldn't Want That?
A few days ago, I came across "Alien Intelligence," which piqued my interest. I am studying a paper to learn about it and hopefully create content by adding my take and voice.
Standard AI is now everywhere. Whether it's your phone helping you find the fastest way home or Netflix recommending your next binge-worthy show, AI follows some rules to figure these out.
Think of your coffee machine—it is pre-programmed. The thing is, it's consistent. It follows instructions to the letter—it can't step out of line. It can't think for itself, and it definitely can't come up with something new. It's a bit like being on a train—you can only go where the tracks take you.
How about a new concept? Alien Intelligence.
A coffee machine that doesn't just make coffee because you asked but also suggests you try tea because it knows you're feeling a little off this morning. Now that's Alien Intelligence—something beyond the typical AI we're used to. You didn't ask for it, but it figured it out based on what it knows about you.
It is learning and adapting. It's like having a buddy who knows your habits and can surprise you with a thoughtful suggestion. Instead of just following pre-programmed rules, it takes things a step further—it can come up with new ideas and solutions on its own.
Or a smart home: With regular AI, it'll dim the lights at 6 PM because that's what you set it to do. With Alien Intelligence, it might notice you're a bit stressed and tweak the lighting to help you relax. It's not just following instructions—it's figuring things out as it goes along.
AI does what it's told, while Alien Intelligence learns, adapts, and thinks for itself. AI is like a reliable worker that sticks to the script. Alien Intelligence? That's more like a creative partner that brings new ideas to the table. Pretty cool, huh?
With AI, you're in control. You give it commands, and it executes. But with Alien Intelligence, machines can start anticipating your needs without asking, like suggesting something you didn't even know you wanted!
If alien intelligence became the next big thing, it could completely change how we interact with technology. Instead of just using machines to do what we say, we could have systems that think for themselves, solve problems in ways we haven't thought of, and even innovate on our behalf.
Alien Intelligence could make machines less like tools and more like partners—learning, adapting, and helping us in ways we didn't expect.
So yeah, AI is excellent, but Alien Intelligence? The Game Changer.
Of course, there's a downside. Skynet could be back at it again!

Hi Abie
To me, alien intelligence is just AI on steroids, using additional sensory input, such as image and voice pattern recognition, light and temperature measurement, etc., to take learning and adaptation to the next level.
Isn’t AI “adaptation” just its ability to analyze information and rewrite its own code for self-optimization?
It’s all an extension of the development of neural network technology - a silicon model of carbon-based life-form information processing and an essential step toward making the system self-aware.
Eventually, alien intelligence will need a more sophisticated mechanical vessel than what is currently available to navigate our environment, which is when its further development of robotics will become essential.👽

I believe that this is inevitable, and I also think there is some of this already around, I wonder what the giants of tech have in their homes? and as a young boy watching sci-fi programs and films, how much has come to be? most of it.
Just the experiments I play with now with my Ai fascinates me, I hope I see the development come through.
The pace of tech has always been astounding, but now with the "out in the open" use of AI surely the pace will pick up again. Look at all the comments we all make "use AI saves time" etc

An enjoyable read with a great analogy. I, for one, believe this is very possible not in 30 years, but in the next 5. It's funny you would post this today because I watched "I Robot" a couple of nights ago. I have seen it a few times, but the other night, it brought home how close the movie is to becoming reality.
Allien intelligence is something I would embrace, but I also see where there need to be some hard fast rules, or we could live in an "I Robot" scenario.

Alien intelligence is an interesting topic. I think it would need to spend a consistent amount of time to get to know you. Honestly, I hope one day it will help with daily tasks such as cooking and cleaning, laundry, and help me manage my money.
I found this awhile back that sums it up. lol
This quote provides a solid foundation for understanding why humans might engage in dehumanization. AI will not decide this process on its own.

Hey, TheAbiePPlus, you are ever curious!! You are venturing into the realm of Alien intelligence! Yes the idea of someone I associate with knowing my preferences is very good, just in case I asked, without being specific, for let say a coffee. There, he/she can scan through my likes and is at liberty to bring me any of my preferences. But when I specify, replacements are not acceptable! So, these aliens thinking that they can change or suggest any alternative based on what they think I love, may be the first cause of conflict.
I am sorry, I am like writing another post!! Have a great day and bring in more ideas.

Nothing is ever perfect! Well, I hope you can put your differences aside and perhaps get on with a common cause. 🙏 The same is true in relationships. Folks compromise.
Apprecciate it Joseph!

As ever, thank you very much. You bring an important aspect: "compromise". Have a great day.
