It would be good to create a website with some advanced Wordpress theme so I can be more creative by web designing. Are they all just basic WP themes?
what aer you looking for - a theme you can start from scratch or one you have max customizability- try the fse themes...
for the start from scratch try out breakdance from soffly (

this allows you to start from scratch...
but at the start concentrate on getting 50 or so posts out - as this will give you a chance of getting some traffic if google likes your content....
In the beginning, you need to add content as it is the bulk of our sites and takes the longest to rank. You may worry about customizations once your website starts gaining traction and traffic.
But yeah, the sky's the limit when it comes to designing.
However, folks would always look for content that answers their inquiries vs looks.
I will play a little with available themes to see what suits the best to start with. I will provide design creation and promo material so I really have to build a decent looking website besides the content.

I would test it first before buying in because that can be expensive.
You want to ensure they are responsive, extremely light, fast, well-coded, SEO optimized, flexible, adaptable, and customizable.
You may try GeneratePress or Premium, where you can extend the theme and have many layout templates.

Yeah, they are free wordpress themes.
All new WordPress themes come with a blank canvas by default upon installation; we add our own content to them.
