Not sure if there's a science to this, but which blogroll format is best, or what do you like most? There's the format where it's a series of blog posts, each with an image an

Thanks all for your help! I also installed the Content Views plug in to give me a nice blog grid view to my post page. Learning more each day :)

Usually not a good idea to show the blog post in full unless the posts are short. As you say, the visitor has to scroll, scroll, scroll...to find a post title of interest.

Best to use the excerpt/summary method with the "read more' tag as per Marion's link. ~Jude

Try this

Maybe this inside view could help you a bit. I personally use the first one you have mentioned (a series of blog posts, each with an image and snippet from the content). When I was selecting my first theme I also had that concern but decided that my visitor needed an overall view when they clicked Home at my site. Later on, I have seen some of my fellow members’ sites and they all have the 1st format (around 30 sites).

But I really do not have proven basis to tell you that the first format is better than the second one. I have seen blog rolls (with a lot of followers) outside WA that have the second format. So, I believe that the 2nd format also has its purpose.

Affiliate marketers that have been doing this for quite a while: I have seen 2 of Kyle’s sites outside WA and 1 of Jay’s sites (Magistudios) and they all have the 1st format. But yet, it might be coincidence.

Thanks Henry! I am super thankful for your response. I suspected the first was the preferred way, because that's the view that pleases my eye when I get to a website. Unfortunately, the theme I chose for my site has the blogroll as the second type though. Do you know if this is usually an option within the theme to change to the first view, or would I need a plug in for that? I can't seem to find that in my theme customization options and wasn't sure if it's theme dependent or plug in dependent.

Very good point. This could help:
1.) Go to the back office of Wordpress.
2.) Click “Settings”
3.) Click “Reading”
4.) Go to “For each article in a feed, show”. There are 2 options: "Full text" and "Summary".
5.) Select "Summary".

That's for feeds not posts.
