Great Resource on Authority Sites
I recently ran into a resource that told me a bit about how to focus on stuff when building an authority website.
I am not saying you should go and buy their offerings, but merely to take a look at what that page tells us.
A lot of what is being said resonates with what Kyle teaches us: building out content for organic search based upon SEO and long tail keywords.
The backlinking story they talk about has more to do with forums and groups than actual backlinking bad stuff. I am not entirely sure about this technique, but know that also DomW applies this to his sites. Believe also Kyle mentions it in his tutorial.
I felt that guide was one of the more proper guides and not just some quick sell me something pages. So it might also be resourceful for you if you haven't completely understood the entire concept of an authority site yet.
Anyway, without further delay, here is that resource:

Not a problem Mark!
Hope it will also push you into the right direction, or perhaps you are already on the right path.

Thanks for the link Steve. Spent a couple of hours there and will go back and make notes. It sure helps to look at Affiliate Marketing from a different point of view. I have been spending way to much time trying to do everything at once.
its very important to take one step at a time. Kyle has some very interesting lessons on that. Just writing content is the most important of them all. Just keep on going with that and it will work out.

I agree entirely. It was really an interesting read. It gives an idea on what to concentrate on and what to leave behind and move away from.
Steven
that's right. Even though I do not want to spend a buck on it, I just want to learn from it and use it on my own sites.

You are very welcome of course. I agree, it was really interesting and pushed me back in the right direction, even though Kyle has so much good info too.

Hi Steven, this sounded interesting and I read over the link you left. There is a lot of great information that makes sense and has verified how we are all in the right business to succeed with the online world.
We have authority websites built through Kyle's teachings which include our blogging with helpful and quality content along with having images, videos and relevant links leading to other posts, among other things members are using that I haven't listed.
Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you Patsy!
It was really an interesting read and even though Kyle has taught us most of this all, it was interesting to look at how they focused on certain things while leaving other things alone, just to get the site started, before running into social media.
So writing quality content is really all that is important, even though Kyle also goes over social media in one the earlier course material.
I think I have gone too quickly because of that course into Facebook and Twitter.
While it is important to not exclude these things, it seems to be way more important to build content than it is to share this all on social media (and using a lot of time building the social media following).
Authority sites, quality content, SEO and Keywords, that seem to be the main things before anything else.
