Jay's Webinar - March 18, 2016 - Spring Cleaning Your Website
Spring Cleaning Your Website
1st Site MaleNursesUniforms.com
Elliot's Site
Site Age: 2 months old
Found many problems with this websiteto include:
- The domain name (Male Nurse's Uniforms) does not match the landing page which shows a picture of a female nurse's uniform
- The theme is not clean-looking. As Jay mentioned, the health industry is supposed to be neat and tidy and his website was anything but neat and tidy
- There is many random elements all over the place
- As Jay, needs to be cleaned up
- Needs more internal linking
2nd Site HockeyFanApparel.com
Andy's Site
- Good thing about his site: His domain name keyword phrase “hockey fan apparel” is ranking on the 1st page
- Jay found it to “not be very personal”
- Andy has many links that are pointing away from his site
- Jay mentioned that the site is perhaps more focused on selling and needs to be more personalized
- The site is very autonomous
- Andy needs to write more about the items he is selling instead of just placing links to them
3rd Site LegitimateOnlineOpportunity.com
My site was next in the hot seat and Iam very grateful that Jay spent much time on my site.
My Site Age: 10 months old
- I have sliding banners and he said to eliminate two of them and have only one banner.
- With one of the images (the one he recommended), the color of the navigation links is not readable (white on white) on one of the menu links, which I have noticed for awhile and been trying to solve.
- Many of my headings are in blue and Jay said to not make them blue, because that makes them looks clickable when they are not.
- My font is too small – I should make it larger Jay told me.
- He also recommended that I remove all of my extra side widgets (Google Adsense, etc). He said unless I am making $50 a month on those side ads to remove them. I am not making that much from them, so away they go.
- I have a plugin that was recommended to me by another WA member that prevents people from highlighting and copying my content. Jay did not like that, so I will deleting that plugin tonight.
4th Site BestOrganicSkinCare.com
Site age: 18 months old
Andrea's site
- Andrea is taking people away from her website
- Jay said to make the site less “in your face”
- There was a banner that Jay suggested to get rid of or put it on the side
- Jay liked that she “branded” some of her buttons, but feels that she needs to adapt that to the next page and carry that brand over throughout her website
- In some areas of Andrea's website, she is setting herself up to receive a smaller sale, so she needs to adjust that
- There are some products she is promoting which are not available on Amazon anymore, so Andrea needs to update that so to avoid frustrating her users.
5th Site BeScamSmart.com
Rashaad's Site
Site Age: 2 months old
- Jay said Rashaad was doing pretty good so far with his site
- Jay recommended getting rid of the Google Adsense ads (same as mine)
- Jay said to add some more visuals
- It is clean, but perhaps too clean-looking. Jay suggested adding some more relevant imagery
- Jay said he was a good writer and he likes the simplicity of the site, but more visuals are needed.
- He said to add more images to his posts
6th Site MySite2Shop.com
Jennifer's Site
- Jay suggested to simplify things by getting rid of the “Shop Related Items”
- When people are ready to buy, there are other things distracting the reader from the item being promoted
- Jay suggested to change the style of writing throughout to match what is on the keeping your kids safe article and not do the “review, review, etc...”
I hope this run down was helpful to you and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. You can use these notes to visit each of these websites and see what Jay is talking about and then apply them to your own websites for better user-experience.

Steph,
I thought his training was exceptional, as usual. Thanks for the breakdown. I wanted to submit mine, but as it is only shy of a month old, I didn't think it would qualify. I should have. Oh well. Live and learn.
Have a brilliant weekend!
Rae Anne
I saw that. I was really surprised. I saw him review yours as well. It looked good to me.
Hi Steph this is awesome, I managed to watch Jay's webinar live today, doesn't usually happen your review is just the icing on the cake very very cool. Going to rewatch using your notes. Thank you so much, this definitely helps so much. You have got this down to a fine art.
Thanks for the run down Steph, just from that I have picked up some great tips for my site. Unfortunately my internet speed doesn't allow me to access live events (without pulling my hair out) so will be have to watch the re-run when next in Australia. cheers James
Hi James!
I used to have the same problem. I used to have Century Link and I was having many problems with accessing webinars, videos, because of the high amount of streaming. But I switched to Dish Network and things are much better.
That's awesome Joy. What did you think of the webinar? I loved it, but maybe that is because I was one of the folks who got some first hand advice which I so very much needed.
I liked it. I put my web address in the chat section but he didn't review mine. I did get approved for a new affliate today so I am excited to get some new material posted tomorrow.

Steph, this is great! You just saved me the time of having to watch Jay's training myself. This run down was all I needed to get an understanding of Jay's recommendations.
Please continue to do these run downs in future.
All the best,
Marcus.
Glad you enjoyed the summary Marcus. I cannot promise to only do the summaries, but glad they are appreciated when I am able.
