Free is good!
What's better than raking in a boat load of cash? Well, nothing really. Money can't buy happiness BUT it can buy all the things that make me happy. My feelings on antiquated cliches aside, the next best thing would be free stuff.
Since I've started my website ( http://www.horrorcabin.com ) I've had the good fortune of receiving several things for free in exchange for an honest review. This past week alone I've received two free ebooks and one physical book. Did you know you can still get things from this little organization known as the "Post Office"? And here I thought it was just for coupons and AT&T advertisements!
In my opinion this is just as good as making money because of the money saved. For every dollar I DON'T spend, that's another dollar I can use towards useful things. Like video games and ramen noodles. You know, the IMPORTANT things! I just wish the electric and cable companies could see things my way. But you can't convert everyone I guess.
All in all it was a pretty stellar week here. Again, I owe it all to WA and the awesome, inspiring people that frequent this site. People like YOU in fact! You guys and gals are the peanut to my butter. Rock on :)

It"s wonderful to know that you can still get some things free,Thanks for the information Good post
That's great! I am interested in how I should contact companies to received items to review. Right now my reviews are based on things I have bought and used. Any ideas? My niche is babies learning through play so it could be toys or almost any baby product.
I started out that way also. I figured out that when I was researching the pages of the movies or books I liked, they usually had a "contact us" button somewhere on their page.
I simply used that and told them I had just reviewed their project and gave them the link to the article plus my email address. Word gets around after awhile and pretty soon, I was receiving unsolicited emails about other upcoming books or movies with links on where to watch or read them if I promised a review.
One thing I found (at least with my horror niche) is that no matter how big or small, they WANT and APPRECIATE a good review of their product! Not only is it good for them, but they will repost and retweet my article to many more people than I could have reached alone. Win/win! :)
Sounds good to me! I used to do a lot of book reviews and I still have publishers mailing me books. I'm going to have to spruce up that site and get it going again. Free is DEFINITELY good!
