Another Accomplishment!

Yes! I finished level 4! It was really the hardest one for me because it was about social media. I really drag my feet when it comes to venturing out because of all the negetive aspects of it. But, I do see the benefits of using social media for business purposes.

On the other hand, I have seen others in social media post things for "business purposes" and I always feel like they are trying to sell something to me. I do not like sales in general and especially pushy sales people...ironic, huh? Here I am trying to make sales through my site. But, I want it to be different! I don't want people to come to my site and feel like they "have" to buy something. I want them to feel comfortable and not feel like they are at a sales pitch demonstration.

So, how do you post your website posts on social media without it sounding like a sales pitch?

Congratulations !

I am the same. I just read MarlainB comment and I agree with her thought process about building a business identity. I have been contemplating this but am not at this stage of the game. I personally don't like feeling pressured and I don't want others.
Nice post.

Well done Karen.

I write something interesting to engage the reader and then I explain how I found this item that helped me and let them know it could help them as well.

Not all sales persons are pushy and I like to believe that the sales persons who are successful are the ones that have complete product knowledge. When I first got out of the service, I joined a company that sent me to a programming school. The first day of training as I was entering the building, across the mantle of the entrance was a quote "Knowledge builds Enthusiasm". I never forgot that and when I got the opportunity to become a sales person that was my driver.

Understand your concerns, as part of the SAC we have to post to not only our site, but also to social media, so in this case we are not selling, only our brand and our website, which is probably a good way to go.

Great question! I too don't like social media... I found the best way around it for myself was to create business accounts that didn't have my face on it, and to not connect it to my personal accounts. That way I never felt like I was personally pitching anything to people I knew LOL. For some reason it is easier for me to play the role of sales person that way.
For me, I don't really "pitch" anything... I let the products I'm "promoting" speak for themselves :)

I agree! The products should sell themselves. I need to do more research in this area and find some good products I will be proud of.

So I do not want to link to a personal account either as I don’t want to come across as trying to sell to the people I know. Did you just go to Facebook and create a separate account without any personal information on it?

I decided not to do Facebook - I didn't think the returns on the work put in were worth it. Pinterest was a good one for me for traffic, but that's about it.
But for your question, Yeah, that's how I would do it. Just make a business account and go from there...

Thank you. I will focus on Pinterest as well. Never really cared for Facebook much myself....

No. I didn't. I used my personal account.

Congratulations!! Social media is powerful for business. We've seen many people have great success, but it changes all the time. Embrace the change and not fear it.

I will! Thank you!

I'm of the same opinion! I don't want to come across as pushy, but want to get my sites out there.

I think one of the things that holds up back is the fear that someone will tell us that what we are doing is crazy or wrong. Building a business is hard and those that try to talk us out of it are scared that we'll succeed.

I say go for it, post away and ignore the "haters". When you're successful they'll be eating their words!

Thank you! I'm finding the more I use it the less inferior I am to it.

Make it "information". Tell them something. Be a "teller", not just a "seller". If you give people enough information, they will buy.
Joe

I like that! I'm a teller not a seller!😀
