Misery Does NOT Love Company In My World

Please do not waste your time at pity parties. Life is tough. Very tough. The saying that misery loves company is very true for most people. That is why there are so many people that want to have pity parties.

I am sorry, I do not have time to attend your pity party. After all, I do not have time to attend my own pity party.

In my world, I acknowledge the problem. I acknowledge the pain, the hurt, the frustrations, the fears...whatever. I then try to find the positive side of the situation. The lesson to be learned. Then I do everything possible to move on. If I am focusing on a "problem," I have lost focus on what I want to achieve. I do not have time to dwell on my misfortunes. Neither do you.

Every day, I see so many people wasting their time on pity parties. I look outside my shop and see people heading to a liquor store next door. Once again, they need something to help them drown their sorrows. Oh...the sad faces I see of people walking by. Even here in Wealthy Affiliate, every day I see so many people pleading with others to come to their pity party.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

When I was a young girl, my mother complained that I lived in La, La Land. Out of frustration, she constantly complained that I needed to get my head out of the clouds. I must admit, for a long time we had a very strained relationship as result. I was happy in La, La Land. Today, I am thrilled to know that my "problem" is that I live in La, La Land. My mother allowed me to be able to recognize who I am. I am a dreamer. My past does not define my future. Yours should not either. Unless you let it.

To the outside world, it may appear that I have been moving at a snails pace. That is until I accomplish my goal. When my new friends and I make it to Vegas 2020, sporting our sunglasses that is covering up our tired eyes and newest wrinkles; it will look like we were overnight sensations. Yet, I promise you - my success will the result of three years worth of work that involved figuring out how to turn my mistakes/our mistakes into learning lessons that could be implemented.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Thank God for Mistakes. It is only through trial and error that we will succeed.

A couple weeks ago I wrote about how I ignored Kyle and the decision cost me a lot of money since I was not doing product reviews. After attending Jay's last Friday webinar about Introduction to Google Analytics, I discovered that Google Search Console is not very accurate. Or at least for January /February/ Not only is it a few days behind, my website is roughly a 100 more visits per day than what is showing up in Google Search Console.

With Jay's training, I have learned to see exactly how much time people are spending on the most popular pages. And the least. I know where I want to focus my time. I already knew which pages were the most popular from Google Search Console. That part matched at least.

Instead of dwelling on the negatives, I will chalk this error up to being a dingy blonde at times. I am rejoicing that in all probability, this website's results might be my ticket in being able to helping at least 300 people improve their lives for the better by joining WA. This lesson will help me earn a trip to Vegas 2020. And then again, this Google might make some kind of change that hurts the website's traffic. That is a risk in this business. My eggs are not all in one basket.

In my world, I do not have time to dwell on my fears. In my world, misery does NOT love company.

I sincerely hope that you will choose to ignore the things that are making you miserable. The things that you can not control or change. Focus on what you want. Now....if you or a loved one is sick. PLEASE do what is necessary to take care of your health. Otherwise, everything else is meaningless.

I hope that you have wonderful, productive week.

Sondra

Great Post! That's right no pity parties...Keep up the great writing!

Thank you so much!!! Yes... no pity parties. I'm trying to focus on writing some great reviews. How about you?

Yes, that is one of the things that I have to work on. Still going through the trainings to understand products reviews better. Any tips or pointer you can give to assist me in writing GREAT reviews will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Great post! Thank you for sharing! A couple of similar thoughts: When the going gets tough, the tough get going, and never give up on your dreams, make them a reality!
Michael Inman

Michael, thanks. Thanks for sharing those two quotes. I do a pretty good job of not given up on dreams. Yet, I've got to get a little tougher when the times get tough.

I hope that you are already super tough when the going gets tough.

Most importantly, I hope this week will bring you a lot closer to accomplishing your dreams and goals than you have ever been before.

I follow the advice of a Navy captain I used to work for. "If you come to my door with a problem and you don't have a solution, YOU become part of the problem!"

Hi Mike!!! That is great advise to live by. How is your new project coming along?

Your post is profound and totally reflect those who let circumstances control them! We determine how successful we want to be.We have the tools, but we need to use them.I liken analytics to getting an MRI on us! Analytics on our website gives to us what is really going on,not on the surface, but inwardly telling us what we need to do the get us going in the right direction or knowing when to change to a direction that will give us what we need to focus on to cure what’s ailing our website’s productivity!

Thank you John!

I love your analogy.

Once I installed Google Analytics on my website, I forgot about it. Almost like I forget about the importance of MRI's until there is a problem.

I also agree, here in WA, we have been given the tools we need. It is just a matter of learning how to use them. Speaking of which, I need to get back to the Bootcamp course.

I hope you have a very productive week.

Ah..bootcamp me too!

there is not a problem in this world without a solution to go with it. People just go into a blind panic and the problem is full of fearful energy and seems huge. Stop, take a breath and the solution will bubble up. Love to know others think that way. :)

Stacy,

"Stop, take a breath and the solution will bubble up."

That little sentence can potentially help a lot of people here, to include me, when we find ourselves being tested beyond explanation with some of the seemingly un-explainable website issues that pop up from time to time.

More often than not, for me, when the weather changes outside they go away magically. Yet the stress they can cause in the meantime.

When i find myself in a situation that never seems to end I think on standing in the middle of the storm. The reason I'm going through the situation the reason for it soons shows itself. There's always a reason and 9 times out of 10 its for the better. 😇

Very true. In fact, it may be 9.5 times out of 10.

Sondra,
You knocked it out of the Park on this one!!
Mistakes are learning moments towards success, and Pity Parties are wasted opprotunities. (Yep, I have bad days, as I'm sure most of us do). It's what you do with those days that matter!
AWESOME POST!!
Shaunna

Shaunna, thank you !!! I'll guarantee all of us have bad days. Some have exceptionally awful days.

And sometimes we do need to share not so good things in order to help other people avoid them.

Yet, as you said pity parties are wasted opportunities.

I hope you have a lovely week that is also very productive.

Hi Sondra, a very strong message but totally on point. Thanks for the share

Michael,

Thank you very, very much for the comment.

I hope that your week ends up being extra special and /or extra productive.

Sondra,

I also tend to avoid people who are constantly feeling sorry for themselves. Negativity breeds negativity. I appreciate your thoughts about taking care of yourself first and foremost when dealing with other people's illnesses. I have a child currently dealing with some major issues and it was really starting to affect me. It's ongoing but I'm dealing with it a lot better.

Thanks for sharing.

Erica

Erica, I wish I could give you a big hug. No actually, I really wish I knew of a way to heal your child quickly.

You have to take care of yourself, mentally and physically, so you can support your child during this difficult time.

I do hope that you can find a little joy each day to offset the challenges.

Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Sondra. I appreciate your kind words and prayers. Life is full of peaks and valleys that's for sure. I have so much to be grateful for and I've be focusing on that, which helps.

Haha you are a power house my dear Sondra, cannot wait to meet you in person - I too had strained relationship with my parents for the very same thing, actually they still do worry about me. My siblings have two to three homes and some have PHDs while in their eyes I am still in Dreamland esp now with me working online lol. You are right some people want help because they not helping themselves first :) another great post and I absolutely love that image you have used. That caught my eye as soon as it came up. Enjoy your day in your business ;)

Shall I include you in my Vegas 2020 vision? I would love that actually.

Thank you for the kind comments. It is amazing how WA brings together people that are so different and SO MUCH alike at the same time. I understand your challenges exactly. lol

In my case I was the only one in my family that choose to go to college. Now, they are laughing at me while I am working through the challenges associated with building the online business stuff. All I can say is that I love my family. Yet, I like living in LaLa Land too.

I hope you have a wonderful day. I want to meet you in person as soon as possible.

Sondra
