What Is Lifestyle Freedom?
The question: "What is lifestyle freedom?" can mean different things to different people. We all have our own definitions of what freedom means to us, but generally most people would agree that it's something along these lines:
Having the freedom to be able to do whatever you want, when you want (within reason, of course).
- Things that make us feel trapped in our lives include:
- Being financially tied to a job you hate
- Feeling stuck in a toxic relationship
- Having no time for fun
- Always struggling just to get by financially
- Knowing someone needs your help, but you are not in a position to offer
- Having free time to do things, but don't have any money to spend
- Not having a vehicle to get out and about
The above is just a really short list, but they are some common examples on what can make us feel stuck in life rather than free.
Freedom = Time AND Money!
Anyone who follows my posts, my profile here, or my website will know I love to preach the time and money freedom line, but that's only because it's so important and so definitely true.
I personally know some people who are doing pretty well financially, but they never seem to have much time for fun. It's all about work and completing task after task, even on their days off.
At times in the past I've had plenty of free time on my hands. But guess what? The things I could actually do with that time were restricted because I didn't have much spare coin.
Not everything costs money of course, but most things will have a price tag attached to them somewhere along the line. The world runs on money these days, so there's no getting around that.
What's the Solution?
Finding something that generates a good, consistent income that also enables you to have free time to enjoy life.
It sounds simple in theory, but yet it can often seem like a fantasy as it can be difficult to obtain this beautiful balance.
One thing I have learnt is that you will never ever achieve this kind of lifestyle freedom while working for someone else. It can only be achieved by doing something for yourself; such as a business, investing wisely, winning money, writing songs, books, whatever.
There are numerous ways to make money for yourself - residual and passive income - that will give you cash flow without taking up all of your time. Most of these things will take quite a lot of work in the beginning (unless you somehow get extremely lucky), but down the track they can become self-generating income streams for the most part.
I've done that with selling eBooks, and affiliate marketing is kind of similar.
Just like I can write a book once and sell it over and over again for years to come, the same can happen with affiliate marketing. You could write one post today that ranks well, converts well and keeps generating referrals or sales for you year after year.

I liked this post a lot. It speaks for large group of us I'm sure. I have been searching for the lifestyle freedom for years. Like others I have been deceived on many accounts throughout the years. Scams, etc. The first part of my working life I was being groomed by my father to eventually take over the business. In the end, all was lost and that dream slipped away.
You are correct that most people will never achieve freedom if they are working a "J.O.B" (just over broke) for someone else.
Yes, this dream of building a business here at WA often seems like a fantasy. Must of us I believe join WA to reach this freedom. At the moment it is at quite a distance. I know hard work will create something from all this. Will it create the freedom we seek can only be seem after much time and effort has passed. I'm no stranger to hard work, commitment, blood, sweat and tears.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have joined Wealthy Affiliate if I thought it wasn't possible, but there may be something else to add to this along the way to reach the end desired result. I guess at the moment it is too soon to say for sure.

It's always wise to seek out other money making options, as it's often a combination of income streams that leads to lifestyle freedom and not just one.
I think most of us have experienced anxiety over bills and insufficient funds at some time. There is now great uncertainty in the job market as well. That's why we are here. I'm almost done with a novel, and was planning on trying to get it published, but I think I am going to self publish and see where that goes. Have a good one.
Try both. Self publish, while at the same time see if you can get a literary agent interested in your novel.

I have been searching for that lifestyle freedom for a long time. I knew it wouldn't happen by staying at my dead-end office job. I had to take the leap and leave that place or I would never make any progress. I had my pension and deferred comp cashed out (and had taxes and took the early withdrawal penalty taken out), along with driving for Uber and renting out my spare room to keep my income stream going. However, I need ways to make income remotely (I can't drive for Uber while I am overseas) to do that I keep my online stores going and freelance write/blog. I have also written a couple of e-books and I am writing a new one now.
