Does Google Just Not Like Some People?
It's never easy to keep up with Google and the constant changes they make to their search engine algorithms, but do you think it's possible that the BIG G just doesn't like some people no matter what they do?
Now this is just a theory, but let's say you've built a few websites over the years, and let's say that maybe Google didn't like one of them for some reason. I don't mean anything bad or black hat, but maybe the G just didn't like something about it.
Now, when you create new websites and add them to your Google Search Console account, all new websites are then associated with the one that Google didn't like.
My question is, if they didn't like a website in your past, when you start new websites and then add them to Search Console, will Google just look at all new websites with the same attitude and decide not to give them any love with the rankings just because they know it's another website you created, a person on their list of people they might not like?
I would be interested to hear some thoughts on this.

That is an interesting question actually because yes it could quite easily be in their algorithm if you are using the same account. Sadly I do not know the answer not only on their policy or if it happens. Made me think though!
I'm glad you think so, Kay. I thought it was an interesting question when I posted it, and I'm surprised it hasn't got more responses.
Lol. Google doesn't like or dislike anyone. We're fleas to them. They're the size of the Earth and we peons aren't important enough to like or dislike. Most of it is algorithms and completely unemotional.
Write good content that people will love that is useful and Google will show your site. Write nothing extraordinary and you don't rank as well. Simple.
Seriously, we aren't important enough to the Google mind to concern itself with not showing good content just because it dislikes a different site of ours. It shows what searchers want, nothing more nothing less.
Well, it doesn't really anymore. Most search results are now dominated by giant corporate sites offering content that isn't even relevant to the search query.
It's changed a hell of a lot in the last 12 months. I'm finding I have to skip the first few pages of Google results to find websites that actually answer my query.
I wasn't talking like Google is a person, but they might lower the authority of anyone creating a site if there was something in their past that Google didn't like.
It's nota personal human thing. It could be incorporated into their system to devalue some people's websites over others.
I use Google all the time to research stuff and they always answer my query without even opening the websites, and always within the first three or four results on page one. I never actually GO to page two, which is pretty much what Google is trying to achieve, an answer to your question as fast as possible.
What on earth are you searching for that doesn't answer your question in the first page? Google is trying to up the relevant results and not just big corporations are ranking. I've tested this, it actually works.
The spiders aren't always biting. Sometimes they just nibble and if they don't find the quality, they just don't bite. Sad fact, but true. I have been bitten, but also nibbled at a lot by the spider!
Confess, I don't understand the Big G either.
Joe
But what if the quality is as good as or maybe even way better than what is ranking well? I've seen some of the thinnest content there is ranking in the top spots on Google for various search terms.
In my view Google is not a person It's a system. It neither likes nor dislikes anyone. It's spiders crawles over a websites and decides weather or not it is worthy of ranking regardless of the million of websitre it has seen in the past.
Yeah, but the system could have tickers set up where it gives more love to sites created by certain accounts than others. Kind of like having a black mark against your name when trying to rent a house or something.
Neil Patel wrote about the changes in Google that caused a lot of problems for bloggers. What Google looks for high quality fresh authority content. If the content is of low quality then yes they don't give you love. Free organic traffic takes time. Now most that are on the front page are the answers to questions and Google ads so they now are reaping more revenue in their ads with all those changes, clever move.
i am pretty certain they are each taken on their own merit - it may not appear so...
to test that you could start another google analytics account and add a site to there and create a similar one in the old account and see which did better.
if this was the case then testers of google would have no end of trouble.
but google is not that intelligent yet.
have fun Darren

Well, I think that in a few years it will be super-intelligent based on how technology improves.

I see that those who are new to this SEO thing have no idea what Darren is talking about. Google definitely ranks sites unfairly. Whatever niche or keyword you choose there is always a limited number of websites sitting in the top spots almost all the time. So, number of spots is limited. That's why Google ranks some sites and throws away most other sites. Those that sit in the top spots very often have thin content and still outrank all other sites providing thorough content. It's simply impossible that average Joe always writes good content that deserves top spots and all others write poor content. Google sends all the traffic to 10-20 sites while ignoring all other sites. Google ranking algorithm is still imperfect and needs improvement. Go, do some research and you will find a ton of proof on Google. At least you need a couple of years to understand how imperfect Google ranking system is.
so don't rely on google as your single source of traffic - multiple sources are needed and look into ppc to 'rank' for keywords you would never be able to.
build a list and market to them - you own them , but treat them well.
