Feeling Really Ashamed, But Keeping My Head Up And Moving Forward
I fell victim to a scam that cost me $1700 and a lot of pride.
I am not looking for sympathy by any means, just warning people that may not be aware of this particular scam.
Being a widow and a mom, I am always looking for a way to make extra money, at the holidays this is extra important. I came across an ad for a vehicle wrap for Fresh Haze IPA, I looked them up, they are very legit.
So I respond to this ad, a few days go by and I receive an email informing me that I was chosen for the promotion campaign and would get another email informing me of what I needed to do.
I get the email, all they asked for was to confirm my name, and mailing address for the check to be sent. I did, and then received a confirmation number for the check. This all sounded legit so far.
The check arrived, $1700, I was to deposit the check and wait for further instructions. So I waited and the check cleared according to my bank, I asked. I was to then send money to a specialist to come and wrap my vehicle with the said advertising.
I sent the money, stupid me yes! A whole week went by and the check bounced, as it was a fake check. And I am left holding the bag of course, even though my bank cleared the check, they are not responsible for one single thing. I think that is crap, but anyway, moral to the story, do not do what I did! Period end of story! Just Don't!
I have reported my case, and luckily have not been charged with any crimes as a result of this. I have since read cases where people have had to defend themselves in court to prove they were not a part of the operation. That would really upset me to say the least!
Use caution my friends, we are among the wolves every day!

Sorry to hear and I am really thank you to tell everyone about this scam it is crazy, and I hope you can get the money not for them but working, It is hard I know, but at least you did it and thats it no more to worry about.

We have all fallen victim to one scam or another. Learn from it and then carry one. Never feel ashamed...it's not positive.

Please don’t feel ashamed, we’ve all fallen for a con at sometime. The important thing is to learn from the experience and use this experience to be more vigilant moving forwards.

I am warning people of a scam, money robber, fraud. I was taken advantage of and do not wish for my friends to experience the same raw deal I got.

You are not the only victim of a scam. I got scammed with my computer. I got told it needed things that were not necessary. I began to wonder why a computer that is not even a year old would have so many problems. So I communicated with Microsoft to find out want they would say. That is when I was told I had been scammed. I would return my computer to the state it was in when I bought it if it would not get rid of my Scrivener application. My new computer cost me more than it should have. They only way to beat scammers is to spread the word around about what they are doing. Feeling embarrassed and keeping quiet allows them to win.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Most of us have fallen for a scam or two. It is a learning process but so hard when money is short.
Don't be ashamed just hold your head up, stand tall and kick some butt.

No problem for the heads up, I had to swallow my pride to post this, but that is exactly why I did.
I have been searching many avenues on getting my money back, but so far have come to dead ends.
I wish I could rescam him lol!
