Yes most of my younger work mates and also my son are into it big time! starting to get crazy here in Perth AU

I love the idea of this game but it is sad that the dangers in the world have to spoil it

Yes, the concept to get people moving around is great just like a treasure hunt but is the safety and possible addiction so control and self discipline is needed.

My daughter is playing it right now! :)

Parental control needed! ... lol!

My brother asked me if I had heard of this new craze, and now I am all the wiser. Thanks guys.

I've had a different take on this game. Not that I don't agree with the warnings - I have seen how easily criminals can target distracted gamers and imagine we'll see an uptick in car accidents due to drivers trying to catch the little monsters without pulling over. My three teenagers and I downloaded this game over the weekend and went out together to all the pokemon hot spots in the neighborhood. I was delighted at how many people of different ages were also out playing. I can see this game bringing neighbors together more and opportunities for meeting new people. Instead of meeting at the water cooler, they're meeting at the pokemon gyms and spots. It's a lot of fun.

I love that it is getting my teenagers out of the house and moving. To play, a person has to walk. To hatch an egg, a person has to walk 10 km or somewhere around 6 miles. THAT, my friends, is an ingenious way to fight the obesity epidemic! As long as they stick together and stay with friends, I'm not too worried. Yesterday they met friends (kids I know and trust) at the mall and walked around in there for a few hours catching pokemon. My kids are not mall rats - it's the first time ever they've gone on their own - and I was happy they were not hanging out in their rooms all day. It's too hot here in Arizona to walk outside except in the early morning or evening so the mall was the best place to get moving safely with a group.

My kids are now planning other excursions to parks and landmarks all over the area. I'm expected to drive, which is fine by me. I couldn't get them out of the house to do anything through their first month of the summer. Now they are begging to get out to find more pokemon. That's a huge win/win in my book.

There are dangers, yes, and we've discussed them. But there are dangers in every aspect of our lives and crazy people out to do harm. Staying alert, staying with groups, players can have a really fun time getting active.

Agree, point noted. The consequences lies in the user ownership and responsibility.

Appreciate your frank and honest feedback and comment.

Thank you - sean :)

Some of my children and their friends are playing this game. I only hear good things from them so far. It certainly keeps them off the couch. Seems like there's a plus and negative to everything. I have to put my hopes that they going to be okay and this too shall pass. :) But then what? Back to the couch... or maybe not.

Lol! ... yes it does get people moving about because of the GPS location so you really need to move about if not the monster will just get away.

Appreciate your frank and honest feedback & comment.
Thank you - sean :)

Always look at the bright side of life, they certainly have the players move, the news yesterday, people are sitting too much and should go move to prevent various diseases.

Hopefully, this mania outweighs the cons. The first here got a 230 Euro fine by chasing Pokemon's on the highway.

This game is hot here in The Netherlands.

Never have played it, never will!

Thanks for the warning, though.....

Two words,
Wisely Said!

There have already been criminals taking advantage of people out wandering around looking for digital Pokemon. Be safe friends and warn your friends that have children.

yes, there are going to be lots of news on this. and pretty soon, the mfg. will get into legal stuff with consumers ...

A local hospital near me is getting concerned because they have 4 Pokemon checkpoints on campus and crowds of people are getting in the way and taking up the parking near the emergency room.

On the other hand, some local businesses are loving it. Some business owners downloaded the game and are paying for boosts that attract Pokemon to their location for a half hour. And it's actually been drawing in people.

Is also great time for bloggers to start their discussion in forums, and boost their website.

My son has added into this campus bulletin website too alerting the caution points when playing this game within the boundary.

We may be getting lots news on this pretty soon.
