Since I tried to add an affiliate link (unsuccessfully), the rest of my blog post disappears when I abbreviate and continue it.

Thanks for all of the responses, but I have solved the problem. It was a Permalink setting.

I think you have it covered good luck

Upsgirl is doing great tonight. It looks like she has you covered.

The secret? Folgers!!! Thanks!

Either that or Jolt -ha-ha

Sally I wouldn't have a clue how to stop that. But I think I am experiencing a similar situation when I a writing in these comment sections.

Im glad to hear you resolved your problem. Good news

I never asked but I would love to see your website and what you have been labouring over the past weeks. So much to learn.

There are 2 issues...
1. The Blog has to have enough content so when you click MORE, there is something to read.
2. Copy the affiliate link and have it ready to paste. Highlight the word/phrase where you want to insert the affiliate link. Click on the INSERT LINK icon and PASTE your url. Save your changes.

I followed those instructions exactly. I got the ad to work on a blank page, but linking within the blog post is not working.

Well, let's examine the link...please post it here.

<iframe style="width:120px;height:240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="//http://ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822>
</iframe>
This is copied from my Amazon affiliate page. The link loads as "About:Blank."

Oh you're going to laugh. This will get pasted into the TEXT portion...it is not a link to an item. Try it and let's see.

OK. Resolved the link issue, but not my original question. What happens to the rest of my post when I use the "more" button?

What do you mean? Let's start over...
What are you trying to do? Amazon Widget? Image Only? Text Only? Image and Text Only? Are you putting this in a Sidebar Widget? Post or Page?

When I use the "more" button for my post, and click on "continue reading," the page displayed reads, "That page can't be found." It is a simple home page post. It worked properly before I began placing links. I have examined the html code and cannot find anything amiss.

Please, what is your link? Let me see.

I solved it. It was a Permalink custom setting. I reset it to default. Good golly, the details you learn while troubleshooting. Thank you, upsgirl, for your persistence. I appreciate it. Now we both know how to help others with this problem.

Well, that wasn't it so I will wait for you to PM me...lol!
