Remembering, Reviewing, and Re-Opening

I joined Wealthy Affiliate because I wanted to put my writing skills to the test and hopefully earn some money—ideally, lots of money! I had a website years before about the Aintree Grand National, and it earned me over £3k in commissions (mainly from punters who ventured into Bingo and lost eye-watering amounts of money!). I felt there was a good chance of success with something more ethical, and there was a lot of noise about Wealthy Affiliate that I couldn’t ignore. I wanted an affiliate marketing community and some training. WA seemed to fit the bill, so I took the plunge.

I got involved with live chat very quickly, and it must have been incredibly annoying for veterans because of my persistent questions and poorly conceived ideas. I made friends, and many mistakes, and always got support from others who I commend for their tremendously high tolerance levels.

When I started making money with one of my sites, I was working hard on content creation, and my attention shifted away from Wealthy Affiliate’s social side as I wanted to devote my time to the site and my ongoing novel. I also had the luxury of time in my earlier days on the platform, but once I recovered from illness, I also returned to “real work.” I felt I didn’t have enough hours to spare to fulfill all my obligations. Planning and my activity on the platform went out of the window to an extent, and I now feel I’ve lost some social relevance on the platform that I shouldn’t have let go of.

My leading site has lost traction following Google’s March update, and my MMO site has been demanding my attention for some time. I finally completed the series of posts I wanted to start that site with (taking me over a year!) and feel I’ve learned enough by now to have a good stab at the niche. A Wealthy Affiliate review would always be the next thing I wrote for the site, and that’s what I’ve done today. It has opened my eyes a bit, remembering what I loved (love) about Wealthy Affiliate.

Several notable and respected members have left the platform recently. I came to thinking I should either go with them or step up. I can’t promise the earth, but I’ve decided on the latter. If you need support, ask on the platform so others can benefit from the answers, but my inbox is open for queries and conversation.
