Here's the best way to handle it:
🔹 Step 1: Confirm Where the Domain Is Registered
First, find out which registrar holds the domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.). You can check this by doing a quick WHOIS lookup online.
🔹 Step 2: Access the Current Owner's Account
Since the domain is currently in the web designer's name, you'll likely need their cooperation. They would need to either:
Transfer the domain into your friend's registrar account, or
Change the registrant details to your friend's information
This usually requires logging into the designer's account (with their permission) to initiate the transfer.
🔹 Step 3: Use the "Push" or "Transfer" Option
Same Registrar: If your friend opens an account with the same registrar, the designer can "push" the domain directly into your friend's account. This is usually quick and free.
Different Registrar: If your friend wants a different registrar, you'll need an Authorization (EPP) Code from the current registrar to initiate a transfer. This process typically takes 5–7 days.
🔹 Step 4: Update Contact Details
Once the domain is in your friend's name, make sure the registrant, admin, and technical contacts are all updated to his details. This is what legally establishes ownership.
🔹 Step 5: Renew the Domains

At least I wouldn't have thought it would be unless he was having a completely new domain name that hadn't been registered before.

It's registered with his original website designer, who also looked after the website, which is never a good idea. I think lots of webmasters do this, so they have full control. It makes it harder to move away from them.

I’ve looked at this too, and before paying for another plugin, I’d consider whether you actually need one running continuously on your WordPress site.
There are free tools that can crawl a website and identify broken links without adding another plugin to WordPress. Google Search Console is also worth checking because it can help identify pages Google is having trouble reaching.
One advantage of using an external checker is that you don’t have another plugin consuming resources or potentially conflicting with something else on your site.
Link Whisper certainly has additional features, especially for internal-link suggestions and management, so it may be worth the money for someone who needs those features. But if the main objective is simply finding and fixing broken links, I’d try the free options first and only pay for something if they don’t do the job.
I’ve learned over the years that sometimes the best new tool is the one you don’t have to buy!

I did try Link Whisper around 30 months ago, but it crashed my site. I believe it has come a long way since then with AI. They do do a 14-day trial, so I may test it out and see what happens, but at the same time, I really value what you are saying, and I really appreciate your input. As you mentioned, Search Console gives a terrific amount of valuable information and it's free.
On another note, I just looked at your profile. It's great to see that you are a Christian. It looks like you have an interesting story to tell. Bravo for spreading the good news of Jesus!

You can connect both and make sure to post from meta business suite if you are using pages there you can select both IG and Facebook options while posting so your posts will be appeared in both platforms.

Just keep in mind that connecting the accounts doesn’t necessarily mean every Facebook post will automatically appear on Instagram—you can choose what you want to cross-post. Since you don’t use Instagram much, connecting them could be a good way to start building your Instagram presence without adding too much extra work.

For the past five or six days, I have not been able to get to my Facebook page notifications, I have never had this situation before. I can get to my personal profile notificati
It sounds like you’ve already tried the usual fixes, especially clearing the cache and testing another browser. If the notification count shows 8 but Facebook says there are none, it could simply be a temporary Facebook bug or a problem with the Page notification system.

Yes, this was some months ago now, but the problem seemed to just fix itself, which is good. I think it was the normal type of Facebook glitch, but after, I can't remember now, probably three weeks, it sorted itself out, which is good.

That sounds really frustrating. It may just be a temporary glitch on Facebook, especially if it is happening across different browsers. Sometimes switching from the desktop version to the mobile app, or vice versa, can help. You could also try logging out and back in, checking if there are any page updates waiting, or seeing if the notifications appear in Meta Business Suite instead. Hopefully it resolves itself soon!
These are some common causes...you may try these...hope they help you.
If Facebook isn’t showing notifications, there are a few common causes. Usually it’s a settings issue, app glitch, or your device blocking them.
Here’s how to troubleshoot:
1. Check Facebook notification settings
Open the app → Menu (☰) → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Notifications
Make sure notifications are turned on for things like comments, messages, tags, etc.
2. Check your phone’s notification permissions
On iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Facebook → Allow Notifications
On Android: Settings → Apps → Facebook → Notifications → Turn them on

I am sorry that Facebook is once again causing your some issues to deal with. It seems to me that Facebook often gives us more work to do, that is from my past experience with the platorm.
Lately I have been considering possibly trying Facebook again in the future, but not quite ready yet.

I do know where you are coming from and you definitely have a point. I started using Facebook pages many years ago, which was when they were really quite powerful. After Facebook was sold, it seemed like pages lost their momentum, but at the moment they now seem to be in fashion again.
However, the truth of the matter is that all these things take work and I believe that Facebook takes a lot of work. Yes, I have seen some amazing success stories, but people are working really hard to create this success, so we definitely have to be careful and strategic. Let's see what happens.

Why is facebook not showing notifications?

It sounds like you’ve already tried the usual fixes, especially clearing the cache and testing another browser. If the notification count shows 8 but Facebook says there are none, it could simply be a temporary Facebook bug or a problem with the Page notification system.

Yes, this was some months ago now, but the problem seemed to just fix itself, which is good. I think it was the normal type of Facebook glitch, but after, I can't remember now, probably three weeks, it sorted itself out, which is good.

That sounds really frustrating. It may just be a temporary glitch on Facebook, especially if it is happening across different browsers. Sometimes switching from the desktop version to the mobile app, or vice versa, can help. You could also try logging out and back in, checking if there are any page updates waiting, or seeing if the notifications appear in Meta Business Suite instead. Hopefully it resolves itself soon!
