Recently, I asked a question about using other member's success stories. I received quite a few answers, which is one of the many benefits of being a member at Wealthy Affiliate. Questions are answered! You can see my question within the link below.

I thought I would expand my question by writing a blog post on the subject.

As I am sure we all know, there are literally thousands of blog posts and questions that we can share through the unique affiliate link provided. We can even share training through our unique affiliate link, this really is a great feature when we are promoting the Wealthy Affiliate platform.

If you go to a blog post or question, just below the title, you will see a clickable icon that says "affiliate". This will give you a unique affiliate link to post anywhere you want, whether it is social media, your website, email etc., a very useful feature!

I have seen many members sharing other member's success stories, which I think is a great way to promote Wealthy Affiliate. We can also answer questions and share our thoughts using the affiliate link. The opportunities are endless!

So going back to my question, "can we blog about other members success stories"? I believe the majority of members who use the content within Wealthy Affiliate do not ask. I have personally shared other member's content a few times without asking.

However, after thinking about using other member's content, I was thinking perhaps I really ought to ask before sharing. If someone shared my content, I would count it a privilege; other members may think differently.

I came across some training from Rob about what we can and can't do here. You can see Rob's training below.

I would be interested to hear more about using other member's content and if you ask permission. Through reading the answers to my question, it appears that most members think it's better to ask for permission.

Thoughts appreciated.

Have a great day.

I might have done this a time or two, Roy, and I agree with the concensus that it is at the very least, "polite" to ask for permission!.

Jeff

Good morning Jeff,

Thank you for your input, it's appreciated.

Yes, I am the same, Jeff, however, I will now ask first. It's always good to be polite and thoughtful.

Have a great Sunday.

Roy

You're very welcome, Roy!

If nothing else, for us, it's the "Christian" thing to do!

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Sunday!

Jeff🙏

That's very true, Jeff, I hear you!

Having said that, have a look at the quick reply I sent to Rudy; what do you think?

Have a great day.

Roy

I agree with you on that too, Roy!

Interesting thread, the few times I have referred to a story here in WA I didn't use names. It was more in an effort to share things that moved me.

I do think that we should all be aware that there are limits to what we should share. Some things may not be as "personal" to me as they are to you.

With responses here in this post, I think I will in the future ask.
Thanks for the conversation,
Sami

Good morning Sami,

Thank you for your input, it's appreciated.

That's a good way of sharing content without referring to names directly. I'm sure you're aware that almost every blog post, question and training video has an affiliate link. So we can actually share the content directly, however, most members feel like it's good to ask first.

Have a great day.

It all boils down to Ethics, morals, the polite thing to do is ask.

I have a funny story, I might be going off on a tangent here but that's okay too.

I remember when I was in elementary school I will pass by this old lady's house and she had the most beautiful mango tree in Florida and every day I pass that house to go to school and I would take one of her mangoes and run mind you the tree was full. She would chase me on my way out with a broom.

Till one day she caught me and she told me all I had to do was ask and when I did she gave me a bag to fill it up as much as I can carry, because she didn't even eat mangos, So I learned early on just to ask it was just that easy.

That's truley an awesome story. Of success. Had to chuckle a little to happends to the best of us as mine was a pear tree.lol.

Haha, good way to keep fit though, half a dozen msg is and run 200 meters ias quick as possible.

Good morning Chante,

Thank you for your response and interesting story, you're definitely on the same wavelength! Incidentally, did that broom ever get you!?

Although we can share other member's content really easily here, it seems like most of us believe it's good to ask first.

Have a great day.

Yes not all of us feel the same, but I have nothing to hide, however, I would still feel overexcited, about anyone wanting permission to add any success story, or anyother, topic that was an eye opener to you or whoever wanted to share my content. This is just how I would feel if it was my content ,however I would ask as I wouldn't feel confident that they would agree or say it's ok. This is truley an awesome place here. as I would of never sat down and thought how I would ever be able to answer such a complex question as this. Still an eye opener, thanks for given me the chance to answer it. Have a fantastic day Roy.

Thank you for your input, Dennis, it's appreciated.

Yes, it definitely seems like it's good to ask for permission first. Like you, I would be pleased if a member used my content.

Have a great day.

Roy

I have not shared success stories, but I know many have. I feel I would like to be asked if someone were to share my content. After all, it is our content.
Alex

Thank you for your response, Alex, it's appreciated.

That's interesting, we are all wired differently. Personally, I wouldn't mind if someone shared my content without asking. However, that just proves that it's good to ask.

Have a great day.

Roy
