Important news about a new bug which was detected a few days ago called Shellshock which British (CERT) team are calling "critical vulnerability"

Hackers have attacked computers across the globe after discovering a serious security flaw hidden inside millions of machines internet security experts said they detected wide spread attacks within hours of the bug being identified which allows hackers to take complete control of your computer.

Shellshock ,which was found in Apple's OS X and the open source Linux operating systems,

Experts believe about half of the world's web servers are susceptible to the bug this means they can be taken over by hackers and steel information that passes through them, even if the computer connected to the server is not affected by the bug.

The most worrying thing about this is according to one global internet security research team said hackers had yesterday installed malicious software on web servers that were affected by Shellshock, Once installed they were able to command the server to steal sensitive information and perform attacks on other machines.

SO WHAT MACHINES ARE AFFECTED

Computers running widows are safe

Apple computers running the OS X operating system could be serious affected as well as machines running LINUX

Apple is working on a security update and are advising people to disconnect your computer from the web until a update is released

As I've said before please stay safe online

Ronnie

Thanks for the warning, Ron. I wrote a blog a couple of days ago about securing websites from hackers and one WA member accused me of scare-mongering.

Stay safe Ron, if you're hosted with WA you should be pretty secure but if not then take a look at my tips: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/mblack/blog/how-to-secure-your-wordpress-website-from-hackers ~Marion

I heard about this, Ronnie. Amazing to think Windows users are safe. I guess the days of Apples being "unhackable" are gone. Some folks need to get a life and stop trying to steal ours. UGH
