According to the International Telecommunications Union 39% of the worlds population is online. That is 2013 numbers.
This is up from 16% in 2005.
2013 - 7.1 billion people times 39% = 2.769 billion online users.
2005 - 6.5 billion people times 16% = 1.040 billion online users
What does this information mean to us?
- In 8 short years the number of people online has almost tripled.
- People are living longer ( and still buying stuff)
- Our kids and grandkids are already connected (they are making tablets for infants)
- At this growth rate in 8 years 5 billion people will be online.
