Knowing What Your Customers Need Or Want

Hi Folks

Ironically enough, SEO isn’t really about your position in the SERPs. It’s about delivering real value to real people.

The Google Search Quality Guidelines specifically say that when you create content that your peeps love, it will rank higher. That’s because:

People spend more time on pages with great quality long form content, and don’t go back to the result pages after clicking on a page with great content. Why would they? They have already found all the information they were looking for.

These are both things that Google interprets as markers of great content.

Because Google wants people to find amazing content, this should be on your content goal list, too. Why? Because when Google sees great content, they rank it higher.

Before you search for keywords and content topics that help your business rank higher, spend some time thinking about what would help your potential customers. How could your experience and/or knowledge make their day better? When you can answer this, you’ll know what to write about.

What Makes Quality Content?

That's an easy question to answer. Content that answers your customers needs and wants.

Study after study shows that long-form content is the winner when it comes to SEO.

If you think about it, it makes sense: the longer a piece, the better it can explain a certain topic and answer all the questions a visitor may have. Hence, they spend more time on your page and go back to the results pages less often.

Typically, a long-form piece of content has more than 2,000 words. But you shouldn’t really be thinking about the numbers.

Just think about explaining the topic you are writing about. Analyze every angle, support your claims with references and add relevant graphics to it.

Write like you would explain things to a friend. I know, we are all busy and long-form content takes time to produce. But you can always outsource writing.

SEO is a balancing act. If you try to rig the game and spam search engine bots with irrelevant links, and keyword stuffing you’ll end up ranking lower than before.

Instead, you should focus on delivering value. Value for your customers and value for the internet in general. There is plenty of rubbish content online as it is. Don’t add to it.

To Finish - Focus on writing something relevant and well documented that people actually want to read.

There you have it folks.

I'm sure you have read it many times within the wealthy affiliate training and there is a reason for that. Quality content will always beat crap hands down every time.

Have a great day and be successful.

Deliver value -- that is a good takeaway from your post. Good information.

Yes indeed Fran, you must give value and when visitors know they can expect that from you they will keep coming back for more.

I hope your day has been going well.
Robert

Writing quality content is very important.

Thanks for the reminder Robert.

Hello Beatrice, I haven't seen you around my blogs for a wee while so I assume you have been hard at work.

Hope this hard work involved writing quality articles.

Enjoy your Saturday.
Robert

Hi Robert, trying hard to keep up with my site and every other thing..

Thanks and hopefully I'll be able to visit your blogs even more.

Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks so much.

No probs Beatrice, your site must come first.
There's also the fact that Life sometimes gets in the way.
Take Care.
Robert

Awesome post Robert. Your graphics reinforce your content and that alone helped me see ways to improve my own website posts. I keep hearing the long posts idea and sure didn't realize that 2400 words rank the highest.
Will have to get rid of the idea of keeping it simple and what you say makes sense. When I do research I don't stop long when the site post is short; I want the whole story.
Thanks for sharing.
Ray

Hi Ray
Lots of members and especially the newer ones say they don't know what to write about and once they get past the first paragraph that's it, they can't seem to write anymore.

I know it takes time to write a really long article but if you stick at it and write then come back I know that the time away will give birth to more of what you can add to the article.

If you hit a wall then stop right away and go and do something else and all the while your brain will be turning over what you have written so far and what more you can add.

you may not think so but I've been writing a lot of years and that's how it works.

Have a good one ray.
Robert

thanks

Happy to pass on my tips and advice Arifu.
Enjoy your Saturday.
Robert

Thank you so much for this information, very helpful, and good reminder to us on what our content should be. I also love your graphics.
Have a great day, Denise.

Hello Denise and hope you are well this fine Saturday.
Also hope you went away with a tip or two that will enable you to be more creative with your own content.

Onwards and upwards Denise and never look back.
Robert

I love this information, thank you once again Robert. You keep my brains from being idle. I just tried this and wrote more than 5 thousand words. Thank you.

By the way, where do you get your info-graphics, did you create them yourself?

Hello llaisanne, sorry about the late reply but my oldest girl came down from up north to spend the day with her old dad coz it was my 70th birthday today.

Glad you liked the blog and it inspired you to write so much.
But you know, if it wasn't in you to do that then you would not have been able to bring it out, so pat yourself on the back coz well done you!

I use one site in particular to access images and then I work on them to produce my own unique graphic.

Enjoy your Saturday.
Robert

Sweet and thanks for responding. Hope you had a great day with your daughter 😄

Yes indeed I had a great day.
Living so far apart we don't get to see each other very often but when we do its always a great day for us.
Have a great week.
