Business Ideas For A Startup Home Business

Hi Folks

I see a lot of new members asking on Live Chat, "What Do I Do On This Site?" or "How Do I Start To Make Money Here?"

These type of questions being asked prompts me to reply with this blog. Newbies Pay Attention!

First of all unless you are unemployed, when starting your home business venture you will want to have another income source. Why? Simply because as they say - It Wont Happen Overnight - It can take up to a year or longer to get a business up and running and making you money.

It will also take some serious work to run your business at night after you get home. You also have to look at the investment that you are willing to put into it. This is not just about money.

Not all home-based businesses are costly to start. First you will need to figure out what your strong suits are you have experience and/or knowledge of. Many of the more inexpensive businesses can be done online where it is just a matter of a small investment for website hosting and a domain.

Other kinds businesses that are offering services and/or products can cost you more to start with. You will have to find the right balance on what you can provide and what people need. Ask yourself the following questions when trying to get ideas.

1) Who will your customers be?

2) Will customers be satisfied with my product?

3) Will they be repeat customers?

4) Who are your competitors?

5) What do you need to charge but still remain competitive?

You will need to know about your competition in detail. (Read A Recent Blog) You will then be able to develop a niche market for yourself. You may not want to get involved with an over-saturated market where you would not be able to make much profit or business. You have to find a market that is popular, of interest to you, needed, and easy to do.

What can be a great moneymaker is to become an affiliate and build out a website and all you have to do is write good quality articles for the products you promote. There are also quite a few other options to earn money from the internet (see image below and right click to open in new tab so you can enlarge).

You can also build your business from scratch, buy into a franchise, or buy an internet business out right that is already established. Starting from scratch will offer you the cheapest investment but can take quite some time to get established. Buying into a franchise or an already established business will cost more at the start but will generate an income quicker.

Once you have finally decided what kind of business and how much it will cost to open then the real work begins. It takes more than an just a good idea to make money. You will have to be able to dedicate time and effort in promoting what you're offering. This could very well mean long days or hiring a virtual assistant to do the work you don’t have time for. You will have to create some sort of structure so you can accomplish your goals.

The main reason people start their own business is that they are looking to work for themselves and not work for someone else. The graphic directly above gives quite a few other reasons. The one thing they all have in common though is they are also willing to go that extra mile to succeed. Are you?
