It was only yesterday that I saw a new member leave a comment to say that they were leaving because to make money on the internet was too hard.
New Flash Newbies - I don't recall anyone saying it was going to be easy.
No doubt the person who left the comment had read all the hype about internet gurus making thousands of dollars a day. Well that’s true, but only a select few actually achieve these results. Also, I am sure that person like the rest of us had seen the adverts claiming how easy it is for people to make a fortune by purchasing some magic system that requires very little effort and will run on auto-pilot, generating massive profits month after month!
If you are still reading this blog, I will assume that you want to discover how anyone can make money from selling or promoting products or a service. Yes - it is possible to make money from selling or promoting products or a service, and there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do so as well.
Once upon a time I was one of those internet failures who spent endless hours chasing the dream of easy money. All I ended up with was an empty wallet. Just about ready to quit, I decided to give it one more try. However, this time I was going to try a different approach.
Instead of trying to get instant success, I vowed to put in lots of honest hard effort and learn everything I could about internet marketing and making money online. I followed the tips and advice that other successful people gave me. It took me over 12 months before I could finally claim to have made a success of my internet marketing venture. Not enough to retire on, but enough to make me realize there was a future in working online.
Looking back on my own experiences, I realized that anyone could make money online and a lot quicker than I did if only they knew what to do and how to do it.
Just about everything you want to know about almost any subject can be found on the internet, and usually for little or no cost. The problem most people experience is information overload as there is so much information available. This makes it even more difficult to decide what to do.
For a “newbie” the internet can be a scary and lonely place. I can recall thinking many times:
“If only I had someone I could go to that understood the difficulties I was experiencing and could give answers to many things that I didn’t understand”. If only I could find a tried and tested method of what to do and when to do it, and with people to show me how!
I am pretty sure that something similar has been experienced by most people who make their first attempts at trying to make money from online marketing.
Maybe it’s even happened to you?
As an ex 'newbie' myself, I realized that the knowledge I gained in creating my first successful online home business would be of immense value to anyone wanting to do the same.
This is my main reason for publishing so many blogs within wealthy affiliate.
I have many years experience now and I want to pass on the knowledge gained so that other members can achieve the same level of success and beyond that I have. (I actually say as much in my profile).
So, how do you make money from the internet? Simple! You follow in the footsteps of those that have gone before you. You take heed of their tips and advice. You give 100% to achieving your goal.
There are many WA members who like myself have been here a few years and without exception we have all been where the newbies are right now.
We took the training. We soaked up all the knowledge that is here via the lessons and training. We asked questions of those who had gone before us.
We persevered folks and we did achieve success. Now we pass on the experience and knowledge that we have. In time you will pass yours on as well.
If you truly want to retire from the rat race and be financially secure for the rest of your working life and beyond then you are in the right place here at Wealthy Affiliate to achieve that.
As has been said many times - It wont happen overnight - but it will happen if you have the right mindset to achieve success.

Great message, not gonna give up. Right now frustrated in that I can not get answers to a couple of questions but gonna keep going. Never gonna have quitter at the end of my name. Thanks for the motivation.

I've been here over 3 years and I have yet to make a livable income, but I am slowly but surely moving in that direction. I am earning some revenue here and there, but I continue to push forward as I refuse to quit. I'm currently going back through the training as well to make sure I understand everything or find something I might have missed the first time.

Three years is quite a long time, but its good you are goping over the training again.
9 times out of 10 you will have missed something and that little bit of info can make all the difference.
You get stuck then you ask the members who have been here the longest.
You will find most of them don't bother about their ranking because they are here to make money and they are doing just that.

I have been here since July 2017. I am going to hit September soon marking 2 months that I have been with Wealthy Affiliate.
I made my first sale this week. I still do not know how I got any referrals but I made it. $25.50 a month is what I am getting right now.
This motivated me a lot to get my own website up and running and am looking forward to writing content. It is just the time that I never have to do enough research, but everyweek I do something atleast.
So from a newbie, it is hard work and will give it atleast 2years before I decide to quit. Which I doubt I will do as I know 2 years is more than enough to make a success of this.

After only a few weeks Twenty Five dollars is a good start and hopefully the start of many more to come.
If you can write a couple of articles a week and every week then the search engines will see and take note that you are consistent.
This is way better than someone publishing more than that all at once then not publishing again for a week or two.
Consistency is key Michael to being noticed and gaining trust.
keep it up and you will do well even if it does take a year or two.

Never give up and work on your dream, and one day you live that dream, sometimes it can go fast, sometimes it takes time, it all depends on so many factors. But all get the same results and that is the end result.
I have been a victim of shiny object syndrome. Look there is no magic solution. I drive a taxi for a living. If I dont go out and start the car and work then I dont make money. Making money online is the same you have to put in the hard graft. Only difference is down the line you make passive income if you build a foundation. Make money while you sleep- nice thought!!
Well written and to the point. :) Continue driving taxi at the beach, till the day comes you stop your taxi, take your beach stuff out and lay down to enjoy life. :))

Internet marketing could be called the School Of Hard Knocks but here at the Wealthy Affiliate University you will always find someone to pick you up again.
This could be tips or advice or simple words of encouragement.
Every little thing within WA will help everyone who wants to earn an income from the internet but at the end of the day every single member does have to have the mindset to succeed.
Without it they will surely fail.
