Hello folks.

I am asked to look at plenty of WA member’s sites and give a judgment and I really do see some very nice sites with great articles and blogs. Have you any idea what's absent in a fairly high percentage of these? No keywords in the content headings or titles.

I'm sorry to say it but that content will have trouble seeing the light of day with the various search engines. Actually those articles and sites will be so low down in the listings it was a complete waste of their time creating them.

It is strongly recommended to utilize keywords in titles on pages itself. This name tag differs from a Metatag, but it's worth taking into consideration with regards to them. Whatever text message one places in the subject tag visitors can look in the name bar of web browsers when they view the net page. Some web browsers also append whatever you devote the title label with the addition of their own name.

The actual content material you utilize in the name label is one of the main factors in what sort of search engine should rank your website. Furthermore, all major web crawlers use the written text of your subject tag as the written text they use for the name of your web page in your entries.

When you have designed your website as some websites or associated pages rather than only a solitary website, you must be aware that each page of your website must be internet search engine optimized. The subject of each webpage i.e. the keywords you utilize on that webpage and the keyword phrases you utilize in this content will get traffic to your website. Also don’t forget your secondary keywords throughout your articles or blogs.

The unique blend of these keywords and phrases bring customers using different internet search engine conditions and techniques, so be certain you capture all the keywords and phrases you need for every single product, information or service page.

The most frequent mistake made by people new to internet marketing is that when they first design their website they put their business name or company name as the title of each page. Actually almost all of your possible customers do not take the time to learn the name until once they have viewed your site and determined if they are going to bookmark it or not.

There is however absolutely no harm in sticking your name at the end of your Title with a dash between them as long as you delete it from the Permalink. Anyone finding your site on Google for example will still see your name at the end of the title.

The bottom line is this people - you should devote the first three positions of the name for keywords and avoid using stop words like 'and', 'at' and so on.This is vital in search engine optimization.

That's all I will say about this subject in this blog and perhaps I will compose another if I receive more questions. But there are the basics of using keywords in your Titles and Headers within this article. So read it and read it again until you understand the importance of this as it will pay you big-time with the various search engines.

Have a great day folks and leave a comment if and when you have the time.

Robert Allan

WA is a great place to learn about all aspects of running a business on the Internet which is why I went Premium.

What your website and training do is put together a lot of the information into an order which makes sense, as well as fill in some missing bits here and there. It is these missing bits which can and do make the difference in successful internet marketing.

I will continue to look through your well presented information to assist me in this business. A big thanx.

No probs Steve. I try to set out my WA blogs and the articles on my sites in such a way and without too much technical jargon that my readers can understand.
But then I have been doing this a long time now so with experience comes writing expertise.
And you're right it that little bit of info that is left out of so many good blogs and articles that will make sense of the rest that is missing so I try not to leave anything to chance and my readers guessing.
Happy to point you in the right direction and hope you had a read of my site article and followed the links there as well.
Enjoy your Thursday.

Thanks for the training, Robert. I have two questions. How many keywords should be used in a post? Yoast stops at one. Secondly, in the keyword diagram, does Keyword 1, 2 etc refer to different keywords or repetitions? Sorry, here's a third one: we're warned against keyword stuffing. Wouldn't the number in the diagram constitute stuffing? Sorry to lumber you with all this but I need to know.

Hello Margaret. Counting the main one there are only 12 keywords in the diagram.
Did you not go to my site and read the article?
If you had, you would see I advise no more than 20 secondary keywords.
You should only have ONE Main Keyword.
The secondary ones should be related to and however small or tenuous a link, those keywords can and do sometimes bring you visitors that you might not otherwise get.
Keyword stuffing means more or less the same keyword used over and over again, sometimes with only slight variations (see pic).
Hope this answers your question(s) Margaret and thank you for your comment.
Enjoy your day.

Hi Robert. If a stop word is part of your keyword, is it still better to drop it from the permalink?
Reply
Robert-A Premium
Hello Robin and thank you for your comment.
It really is not a good idea to use stop words.
Its the Keywords the search engines are looking for and a stop word is not a keyword so I would leave them out whenever possible as they serve no useful purpose.
I added a link to one of my site articles with more links to more info.
Well worth a read when you have the time.

Thanks. I am really having trouble with this. At this point, I don't know what I don't know, so I am unable to ask a question. I understand the searching for keywords that will rank but I don't understand how to put them in the right positions and how to build what I want to say around them.

Thanks for the info here, Robert. Just a few questions so I can be sure I'm getting it right.

- You refer to a "name tag" and "Metatag" "subject tag" Does "name tag" and "subject tag" mean the title of the post. Can you show me an example of each of these in a post.
- You mention "secondary keywords throughout your articles or blogs". Do you recommend using several KW in a post for generating more traffic. The general training I have read in WA suggests just focusing on 1 main KW per post
- You say "you should devote the first three positions of the name for keywords" do you mean the first 3 words in the title of the post?

Thanks for clarifying these questions

You should have one Main Keyword but the secondary keywords are important as well.

Hello Peter. As I have said before it is a steep learning curve but if you take it one step at a time and try to at least understand the steps one at a time before you move on to the next it will gradually all fall into place.
Thank you for your comment and enjoy your day.
