This program came out years ago.. I don't have the program but I would think the methods in it are somewhat outdated.
Whenever I tried to submit a comment it says we ran into a problem. A name is required. I must've put my name in 100 times and still got the same error
Are you using a Gravatar, you need to have one for the comment feature here to work. Add Gravatar or WP Profile Image
Yes. At first I wasn't and it told me so. But after signing up and getting my gravatar it still says I need a name.
And you choose your name from the dropdown?
If so and you're still having problem contact support. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

Need a good plugin to track visits to my site. I've tried Google Analytics with no success
I had wanted one for my sites as well, but haven't found one that I liked. Let us know when you find one. I am sure that it would help many.
Whats a good reliable visittraffic counter or tracker?

Should I use a format such as "cheap goods" and have that go directly to the site? Or should I use "cheap goods" but instead of going directly to the site it goes to another pag
Google does not love sites where every page is just an affiliate link. If you mention a specific product, you may want to take people from that page to a more elaborate review where they can get more information and make an "informed" purchasing decision.
This will not only look better in Google's eyes, it will lead to higher conversion rates because when people leave your site to go to the merchant site they will be informed and ready to buy.
Keyword Search => Your Page => Review => Affiliate Page
Hope this helps you out here.
Thank you so much. I was stuck there for a minute
I figured that having a small page dedicated to telling them about the merchant/product and then presenting them with the link is a better practice than just providing a link with little to no additional info.
Now that I'm reading what I'm writing it's a mystery why I even struggled to decide lol. But thanks again!
HI Remmy,
I think if something sounds like a "tactic" to you then it probably is and visitors will not be pleased.
I am not sure where you are creating this link "from". Also the words "cheap goods" is broad and I did not look at your site(s) if any so maybe that would clarify it for me. I guess what I am saying is people do not like the mystery of where they will be taken with a link, unless they trust you already.
Saying something is cheap could be a double edged sword-some might view it as the greatest deal ever and some might not want to click on it cause you are calling a product cheap, which could be translated into sub-standard in quality.
I was using "cheap goods" as an example. The actually link would be at the top menu. But I will go with Kyles advice and review and describe the site/product and have the visitor decide whether or not to click. Thanks!
You are very welcome. A practice called "funneling" is where you make the visitor "click through" additional pages to get more and more info, (but not too many so they get bored or lose interest) so that each time they progress, they learn more and want to make the purchase. Sort of like getting them to trust more with each bit of info. Each bit of info should be designed to entice them further to want the product and to make that click on that purchase page.

If I'm creating a site using golf equipment affiliate programs, do I really need to post blogs? If my visitors are coming to my site with the mindset to shop for golf stuff, the
Well, if your site is only about promoting items to make sales and you aren't teaching your visitors anything or helping them out with a problem they are having, it can actually turn people off. People will feel that "sales only" feeling and possibly back out of your site. Blogging shows your visitors that you are there to help them with whatever they are trying to figure out or solve.
Also, by blogging and using good keywords, this is your opportunity to get people to your website. It will also help you to not be fighting against the stiff competition that you are talking about - big name golf retailers. :)
So how do the big guys get away with it? Am I at a huge disadvantage as far as a "blogless" site goes because I don't actually sell the product? If so then that begs the question...what the heck do I write about? lol
Well, that is where you would want to do a bit of research. :) You could write about a lot of things. From the different types of clubs to beginners golfing to knowing how to pick out the best clubs for you to even how the game is played and what the rules are. I can think of a lot of things that come to mind.
You have to remember, you aren't trying to be a Golf Galaxy. :) You are needing to narrow your niche down and focus. You could never begin to create a monster store like that and rank higher than they do with Google. You don't even want to put yourself in that situation!
Write a few blogs like I suggested (search keywords up and find good ones, of course) and then apply with a couple of affiliates so that you can promote their products on your website. You can use their links within your content to make sales. You will be helping people out and making commissions while you do it.
I'm beginning to understand now. I have to completely realign my focus. Back to square one. Thanks for the help.
I think you were trying to build too big. :) You are right, focus again and you'll get this thing!
