I was sent a interesting article today, thought I should share the links.
I was sent an interesting article this morning called Think with Google and wanted to share. It talks about how much now we search on our smartphones, For instance, 80 percent use a smartphone, 57 percent use multiple mobile devices, 27 percent use a smartphone only and only 14 percent use a computer only now. 40 percent search only on their smartphone on any given day, Subjects searched most commonly are health beauty and parenting. Here is the link so you can read this article for yourselves, my point to this is how important it is to make our sites we build mobile friendly if not we are passing by at least 40 percent of potential traffic on any given day.

I just published a link where you can test the mobile responsiveness of your website. Paul said this is outdated though as it was tested on the old 3G. You can also read his answers, which I believe is very useful.
Good article.
I am still in the 14%. I would much rather use my computer than phones. I am actually sick of mobile phones. The week my phone was busted was so peaceful

Are not the websites we create on WA / Site Rubix automatically mobile friendly?
Mobile friendly websites are dependent on their themes. Not all themes are mobile friendly.
John
I add the amp plugins so the mobile speed is much increased. Let me hunt for the training and I will send you the link
here is the training about amp I was talking about. Your Google Mobile Rankings AMPed! This helps with speed a lot

Thanks your helpful link. So I have a follow up question. When we search themes on SiteRubix should we search "mobile friendly" as well? It seems to me, and born out by the Google article we should all only be using themes that work properly on all devices - laptop, mobiles & pads. Am I right?
Richard
Yes this is the case. If they are not mobile friendly you will have to add plugins.
John
Thanks Chris. I assume therefore we should only choose themes on WP, WA, SiteRubix that work properly on all devices?
Yes,this would make less work. Make sure the theme has all the features and functions you are looking for. All themes are not created equal.
John
Thanks Chris. Another lesson learned. I wonder why Site Rubix (WA) don't eliminate all themes not responsive on all devices. After all am sure WA don't wanna encourage any of the members to make that mistake of picking an ineffective theme relevant to the real world we are trying to successfully build our online ventures!
Richard
WA will not tell you how or what kind of website to build. They will instruct you on what works best, and what to look for.
John
Thanks Chris
