Mixed feelings on Site Comments
With all the wonderful improvements here at WA, I hope that the system on Site Comments can also be improved soon. I've been having mixed feelings about it for some time now. While I get really good quality comments, unfortunately there are comments that are written just for the heck of (to get credit maybe). There is obviously a need to edit or disapprove it when it is site feedback. There is another place for site feedback.
I know this has been a common sentiment since I've read other blog posts about frustrations on site comments. Hope we can all continue to truly help each other by leaving quality ones. Please, if its a post that you can't comment much on, we can always skip it and find another post to comment on. Thanks.

Site feed back should be the truth so it will help a person to improve their site whereas site comments actually ate on your website and are indexed with Google so would be better if they are good
So true Paul. Better to hear the truth in Site Feedback and improve. And yes, helpful Site Comments are what we all want. :)
I was the SIMON Cowel of site feed back and upset people do I stopped doing it - I have 310 comments on my site so that is not so
Bad but I am more than willing to leave a comments on anyone's site all they have to do is ask
Aha, I just noticed that there is a note below when I disapproved a comment that it will go back into the system to be replaced with another comment. Hope so. I also try to explain why I am disapproving a comment so that the person understands and hopefully does not repeat.
I agree totally with your feelings on Site Comments. And, if I am not happy to comment on a site then I skip it. I believe that is the kind way to deal with Site Comments :)
Exactly Valerie! There are so many posts that I have no clue about so I just skip it rather than leave site comments that won't be helpful to the person.
I haven't used either function yet but have frequented the give and take threads. I think what ends up happening is people don't understand the difference between feedback and comments. I know I didn't for quite awhile. I think blog posts like these help newer people like me become clued in to the difference so that we can take steps to leave better comments.
Appreciate the honestly, Nichole. I would suggest though that if you have any questions, anything at all, just ask, The community is really very supportive.

It is a fairly new feature and some members are still working it out , our newer members may not quite fully understand how it all works, I know when I started it took me a bit of time to grasp all that went on within WA you can decline the comment and let the person know why that way it can help them develop better commenting skills
That's what I do to help. I explain as much as I can why I disapproved it so they will know in case they are not aware. Nichole raised a good point.
