Free Clipart and Photos Dilemma solved by FlickR
While struggling to find free clip art or photos to support my website was looking grim. I even started to consider paying the outrageous membership fees that some companies are looking to collect.
To hell with that noise, I did some research and discovered that "FlickR" the photo sharing site, has a great search engine that allows you search within a Creative Commons and a commercial use database found here: https://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/ *just be sure to select the Creative Commons and commercial use filters.
Then search for photos by keywords, once you have found the one(s) you like it explains the attribution that is required to use that photo. Some are more strict than others but for the most part it is rather easy to properly attribute most photos. FlickR even explains the provisions for the attribution and the correct way to do so. *Look for a small icon below the photo.
Here is a site i found that helps layout the correct attribution format as well: https://wiki.creativecommons.org/Best_practices_for_attribution
I hope this helps by saving you time and money. Get Some.

Just what I was looking for...cool beans.
*Look for a small icon below the photo" What does that icon look like?
Thanks. Phil
I don't know if you found the information, but last night I found a great resource for attribution of Flickr photos (if they require one). You just put in the Flickr page URL of the photo you want and you'll get the HTML code that you then insert into your page or post that you want the photo to appear on. The photo and attribution will then appear. Try it!
