Hello Ramona, once you purchase your .com domains, have your SiteRubix sites transferred to them through SiteDomain. Once you do that you will still have all the functionality of the SiteRubix.
First of all, no such thing a silly question. Answer absolutely, you will be able to keep the blogs as sub domains to StieRubix or transfer them to your new domains. Think of all the folks you just helped because they might have been afraid to ask what might be seen as a silly question. That's how I think of it.

Someone did a blog on this back in November. Hope it helps. I'm new too, and when I get stuck use that white bar at the top with the magnifying glass and ask a question. Several trainings usually pop up. If you put in the last paragraph, it should bring up the training.
