Week 3 at Wealthy Affiliate

Whew! I feel like I've come so far in the last three weeks! I've tried to create a website in the past, but I feel that I've made more progress towards a professional looking and successful website in the last three weeks than I ever did with my first site. The niche I'm working within is teaching people to write resumes who are currently looking for jobs.

I love this community and have gotten so much encouragement and incredible feedback to help make my site even better. I love this feeling.

I'm looking forward to learning how to earn an income from my website (which has become my passion!) and I'm hoping in the next three months I can make my first $1 from my website. :)

I'm hoping in the next 6 months I'll have created a second niche website and well on my way to having TWO successful websites!

Hi, Ashley. WOW!

You are definitely on track and making 'things happen for you.' Just do not lose the understanding that the WAU platform will always be here for you regardless of how busy other aspects of your life becomes.

It is a matter of setting and establishing your priorities which it seems that you are doing quite well.

Gary, below, offers some great ideas and 'food for thought.'

How wonderful is the community here?

The overall 'look and design' of your website is a 'Winner.' Very nicely done.

Will touch base with you on your next post.

Best Regards,

Paul.

That's a great start got only 3 weeks in. Well done !

With such a positive outlook on life you will be well on your way to achieving your goals :)

Fantastic!!

Wish you all the best

June

Hi Ashley,

I just spent a fair about of time reviewing your web page. Wow, what great content. Resume writing is a skill and therefore something that doesn’t come naturally for everybody, I’m glad you’re out there to provide some light in a dark place. I have some thoughts for you to kick around.

How about niches within niches (sub-niches)
Resumes for people in specific markets? For instance, I know certain industries are just ripe for job hunting and preparation assistance. One in which I have personal knowledge is medical device sales. These are high-end jobs and people looking to get into this industry are willing to pay very good money to know what you know. It doesn’t always involve being an authority within that field, just the same content you’re already creating, but with a “bent” towards that industry.

Another example, I know a guy (a marketer) who helps chiropractors make more money in practice and outside of practice. He’s not a chiropractor but knows marketing and content and as a result, he uses it to assist chiropractor. He does very well by selling eBooks, and courses. Like hundreds of thousands of dollars, that well!!!

On your monster plugin, does it allow you to capitalize on monster’s affiliate program? I didn’t see a code acknowledging that you were part of their affiliate program?

Have you thought about offering individual coaching and interview preparation for interviewees? Maybe a 15 or 30-minute phone call to assist the interviewer prepare. It would be a nice like upsell that perfectly fits your niche. Something, that as you develop your site, you could consider.

Apple has an affiliate program for its app’s rake is an excellent app for job seekers but it’s a free app. I bet there’s paid for an app that you could link to and make a little jingle as a result. Apple’s Affiliate Program (http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/)

Power words, great page and invaluable tool for those looking to create a powerful resume.

Conclusion. You have a fantastic site and one that is in high need due to the lack of credibility with similar sites. Your content is highly relatable, succinct and easy to follow. I think this will be very successful site and one that I am excited to see you grow in.
I wish you the very best of luck. Please update me accordingly as you add content to your site.

Warm Regards,
~Gary

Gary,
Thank you so much :) I've thought about e-books and email courses, but hadn't considered the idea you mentioned about kind of an interview pep-talk :) I start back at my Masters program tomorrow, so I don't know that I'll have the time at the moment to initiate anything like that, but I really like the idea and will definitely pursue it in the future.

I do want to follow the niche within a niche idea. In my research I've found that there are many different standards for resume writing depending on whether you're in the education, medical, or technical fields just to name a few.

I'll definitely keep in touch and let you know when I make substantial progress :)
Ashley

you're welcome. Look into pharma sales, medical sales, and medical device sales. These are high paying jobs that typically get a high volume of interest and application. People in these industries are willing to pay big money for any advantage they can get. I think you could carve out a nice little corner of the world for yourself.

G'luck starting back on the masters

~Gary

Well done and best wishes for the future going forward
Step-by-step and you'll get there
Cheers.............PB

Thank you!! I'm very excited :)

Great job.
