About PMV
Joined February 2010
Well, I'm Paula and I think it's about time I update.

It surprises me that it was only 2010 when I joined WA. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

When I arrived I was desperate to make money so that I could leave the part-time job I hated.

During the time I've been here my focus has changed.

While I'd still like the option to leave that part-time job, the results I've experienced from being in this extraordinary community relieved the pressure.

Technically I've learned tons. But more than ... mmm ... how to put? It's like there's an ether of unseen support and genuine care that's virtually tangible.

But as I said my focus changed. I'd still like the option to leave my part-time job, but now I can see how much I learn about myself while I'm there. It's amazing how much we can learn about ourselves when we're getting wound up and grumpy [lol]. I even get paid while I'm at it.

At my core that's what I'm all about. Experience, notice, learn, see other choices. It's all about choices.

So my part-time job is in banking. Bottom of the food chain I might add [smile]. Literally every second is accounted for and no, no bonus for me [lol].

I also have thorough training in Chinese acupuncture (well, thorough in terms of from a western education) and various massage therapies.

Ongoing reflection and unseen work is a passion. I have previous software development experience but any skills in that department are well, earned by slog and determination rather than natural aptitude [smile].

If you think I can be useful to you, just shout.

Very interesting personal intro. Some years ago (seems like a different lifetime) I had to visit banks almost every work day and became friends with the tellers. It seemed to be that many got the short end of the stick -- they worked faithfully for years, then got pushed out toward the end, something would be found as an excuse to lower their status, try to get them out without the full retirement package -- and those tellers were the core they were the ones that dealt daily with the important commercial customers. Oh well, you have to hope what goes around comes around. Software development -- done some of that it is tedious for many of us, some people seem to have a nack for it -- but I like it from the other side more than the development side. At least knowing how developers work the system I can prevent many of the "revise, bill, it is your (the customer's) fault" syndrome. SAD — those little portable lights they sell are really helpful, just turning on while you get ready in the morning can make a world of difference. Vitamins, yes D but probably better to have a good cocktail that also includes B complex. Eating fish like tuna or salmon, making sure you eat foods or take supplements with folic acid (dark green leafy vegetables)…

HI Paula. Do you have a website about your interests in acupuncture or massage?
That would be so interesting. Hope you're doing well here at WA.

I don't Lisa. I used to have while I was in practice but for various reasons I took a sabbatical which has turned out longer than I initially thought it would ... lol. I'm fairly absorbed in people, energy work and natural healing potential though my day job is only mildly related as I could frequently kill the lot of 'em ... lol.

I love WA. I love the absolute wealth of support for people to reach their own potential. K & C have built a phenomenal resource and community. Often when businesses grow they lose a certain amount of grass roots integrity and heart. But K & C's business really seems to be led by heart vision and integrity and although I've never met them and probably never will I have only respect and admiration for their work.

Oh I wonder if you found an alternative to Aviary (which I never heard of ... lol). Like Craig I've used Gimp but I'm not that quick on the uptake with arty stuff. I find pixlr.com/editor much easier and Craig the Fabulous did a great intro at https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/creating-a-blog-header-graphic-with-pixlr.

Maybe I'll get around to a site with my own take on acupuncture. I would think you too could create a fab resource with your experience in home priming. Whether selling or not it's a great subject :)

Paula...I saw your response to my blog. Yes, there is something that is very present and real mucking stalls. I will be doing it today...have been spending way too much time online, but am starting to earn money. Acupuncture...did you see that I am a massage therapist. I have a practice in my home. I like to call it integrative bodywork, trying to stall the growth right now....until I get my health blog and website up. That is what I want to affiliate market from...I want to market what I believe in, products that enhances my blog (area of expertise) that will help the people who buy through my sight...working on that right now. But, back to the Acupuncture...it is my dream to be able to go back to school for Acupuncture to be able to follow up with what I do by release from nerve inhingement (sp) and pain. I am at that level of soft tissue, muscle, and joint release with what I do already...I love what I do, but have to establish residual income before I pick it up again, hence WA and developing product, etc. If I continue to work full-time...my body is going to wear out. Curse of all good chiropractors and massage therapist. But, my dream is to go back to school for acupuncture. Anyway...good to meet you through WA. I love this place and the sense of community. Have a good day!

My success is more internal than external Beverley but I sort of value that more. The more I'm sorted internally the easier the external gets. But then I'm sure you would totally get that given your line of work. Your work sounds really interesting and I'm glad you're reaching so many people :)

Hi Joan, I'm great thanks! Have had a LOT of stuff going on but my focus has been on getting to a place I can deal with STUFF healthily. Thankfully I've been blessed with guidance and I'm living from my heart and trusting life much more. So my mum's still very sick, my job's challenging and my relationship's, well, tricky ... lol ... but I can honestly say I'm in a great space to experience it all and I'm much more aware of who I am, what's important to me and what I will and won't do.

It seems there's been a whole lot of changes in WA. Seems very exciting but I think I might have to go through the 10 day training to get back up to speed ... lol.

I've pretty much decided I want my online activities to mirror myself so rather than trying to do affiliate stuff to make money, I'm going to work in the affiliate / website arena where it feeds my soul. Slower maybe but more meaningful for me and I kinda think that will take care of what I need anyway. Thankfully I've been making measured decisions the last year or so so I'm a long way from being as desperate as I was when I first joined WA.

How are you doing yourself Joan? I see many new names here but plenty of well remembered ones too :)

I wanted to thank you for your wonderful comment to my latest post. I'm in the process of reading "Awaken the giant within" by Anthony Robbins. I just ordered a used copy of "Unlimited Power" by the same author. I can't recommend him enough *and* he's into NLP too. YES!

I also am learning to ask myself what I can learn about a situation, and going over my limiting beliefs, and learning to believe in myself. I've been disbelieving in myself for so long and working with vicarious beliefs from others, but have recently learned that if *I* don't believe in myself, then others can't either, so I'm on a quest to learn to believe in myself. I'm starting to a little bit. If feels like I'm not the same person that saw 2011 in! Radical changes in the last 2 months, but a ways to go yet. I'm a work in progress! Thanks again. I hope we can be buddies!

Ok, cool. Is there a particular area of alternative medicine you like or have been doing? Recognising that to offer the best to your patients you have to be of a high standard yourself is really good to hear and I think it stands true too.
The avatar like I said represents me in some ways. I both enjoy and think it is important to recognise your health physically, environmentally, internally etc. It represents for me being free and sharing a universal law of cause and effect.
Just to let you know it wasnt a picture I made It was a picture from somehere else I saved from the internet :)

I'm great thanks :) ... yeah I agree 200%. It's why I took some time out of practising alternative medicine. I just felt had to make sure I was doing the very best I could for my patients and I knew I needed more development to achieve that. I'm still curious about the avatar. It's very distinct and has a very strong feel. I'd love to know a bit more :)

Don't apologise Joan [lol]. Honesty's definitely not cold. I never have gone along with the seeing individuals through rose-tinted spectacles just because they've crossed the great divide. And it sounds like she was a bit of a nasty peice of work! Not heard anything from Maureen for ages. I have thought about PMing her but decided to wait until I've something useful to show her :) I'm hoping that the magazine work has really stormed forward because she's talented and generous and she just deserves it :) Mmm ... I look back on that TA role with somewhat of a wry smile. Certainly some delay (a good 10 years or so) in realising how it fit into the rich tapestry of my little life so to speak [lol]. Hey ho, it's all fun! Would like to be in here a little more regularly though - perhaps that's yet to unfold :) - but shout anytime, it's always great to hear from you xx

Good to hear from you Paula. By people dying away, were you meaning people actually dying? Or just falling away? I hope you didn't lose anyone close. It's hard to lose anybody. We just lost an in law who wasn't very nice. As a matter of fact, she was horrible. The fact that you can't mourn is sad too. Everything is OK with me. Big work spurt ahead, and facing my nemesis: TECHNOLOGY. Are you back to stay for a while?
Reply

Hi again Paula. Sorry to hear about your family losses. It's very hard to lose family or anyone close. Sorry about my in-law comment. I know it seemed cold. We're all God's children, after all. She was my brother in law's wife. Lost my sister a few years ago and my brother in law remarried. This lady was brutal to my nieces, frankly brutal to my brother in law. That's why I made the comment. You must be working very hard. I'm impressed with the software development technical authority post. Nothing wrong with terrier tenacity either. Thanks for the offer of help. I might just be knocking at your door. Glad you're back, even if it's occasional. Do you ever hear from Maureen?

Hey Joan, thank you :) It's been a weird few months really ... feels a bit like some old stuff and sadly people dying away and now a kind of new growth time and opening again. Metaphorical winter arriving into spring as well as physical. Strangely enough the sad bits don't really feel sad or chaotic right now - just feels a though the chaos is a part of a new order pushing through. Can't imagine the people is Japan are feeling that way though. The devastation there is unimaginable. Makes us ponder doesn't it Joan? Hope all's good with you too my friend :)

A little bit of a mix Joan, we've lost two family members and another one is not expected by medics to live much longer (personally I think she could see us all out!) I do find it hard, as you say. In another way I feel very close the the cycle of life and death and all feels well. I'm sorry about your in-law. When someone goes who's not been very nice it opens up a whole new bag of reflections doesn't it? It's great you're on a work spurt though :) Your nemesis brought a smile. One of my previous roles was as a software development technical authority, which was hilarious because I am so NOT technical! Funnily enough I ended up with a big payrise following that one. Nothing to do with technical expertise, just terrier-like tenacity pulling apart problems until solutions just gave up and showed themselves [lol]! It's all about relationships [lol]. So if I can help at all just shout. I'm certainly back to stay for a while though I'll be in and out to accommodate ongoing dramas [lol] and increased job hours. The job drains me, I get pathetically tired and would rather not be there :) But at least I have the opportunity to have a job and reduce some of the financial pressure. It's great to be back Joan :)

Paula - Plumbers are "like gold dust" here in Phoenix, Arizona, USA as well! One of the things I'm trying to accomplish with my DIY plumbing site is to make people see that a lot of the tasks they pay plumbers to do are things they could easily do, saving loads of money. They just need to get over the "ick" factor! I always worked for fairly priced and honest plumbing companies, yet they are the exception, not the rule. Part of my site will be to teach people to spot the scumbags that are rampant in the industry. That will make me unpopular with a lot of owners but I don"t care. Thanks for the blog comment!

Hi Paula, How's it coming along? I'm really looking forward to reading your material. I'm not in the same profession, but definitely on the same wave length. You are very needed and what you impart is important to everybody. Worrisome how people are harming rather than helping their bodies with some of the drugs that doctors are carelessly dispensing. My poor brother in law has prostate cancer, and in treating the cancer, his mind has been blown by massive amounts of drugs and radiation. He says he trusts his doctors. LOL.

Hi Joan! Thanks for stopping by :) I'm so sorry I've not been in WA for a good few days .. life has been very insistent but I hate being away for so long. Thank you :) my blog is coming along surely but fairly slowly and one of the things I am trying to work out is how to structure it. A lot of what I want to get across is the immense power we have untapped within, but I think it has to be thoughtfully structured and presented to make it reasonable and believable for everyday people who are not steeped in alternatives the way some of us are. I'm really sorry to hear about your brother in law. One of my colleagues has been helping an elderly gentleman whom I'm sure has had prostate cancer for about the last four years. He was given only a few months to live by western medicine, but with alternative treatment is still with us years after. My friend has been helping him battle to get the continuing treatment via the National Health as there is evidence to support its effectiveness. To cut a long story short, it's now his GP who will not prescribe it because he says he doesn't believe it can work! I think there's more to it myself. Anyway the last I heard it was headed towards the court of human rights. It's so frustrating. There are answers out there that the general public are not being allowed access to. And I don't think all doctors are bad people - far from it. I think there's a paradigm in place and a lot of vested interest focused on keeping it that way. But it will crumble in the end. When my colleague's elderly mother had cancer he sought out another alternative treatment, again after the western lot had given her up. She survived well beyond her allotted time and only died after an overdose administered during a hospital stay which was unrelated to the cancer at all. I ask you! I'm going to head over to your blog now and see what good stuff I've been missing!

I read one of your comments yesterday about your own success story not being one that you can attach a strict $ figure to (or pounds sterling in your case). There are 4 DNS Nameservers on the WA Blog & Funnel. If you created your domain name before they set up their new servers...somewhere around July 8, 2010, you will use NS1 and NS2 nameservers. If you set up your domain within the last week or so, use the second nameservers. Once you enter nameserver codes at your web host, test links on your WA blog. Let me know if you're still stuck! Barbara..bkb2012
Reply
bkb2012 Premium
Fallulah -- When you set up your WPExpress prior to the 8th, the nameservers are NS1 and NS2. There is a difference because domain setup talks to those servers. So if you tried to connect them to NS3 and NS4, those servers won't communicate with your domain dated prior to July 8th. You have to stick with your original settings. If you want to pull off WA hosting, you can set up another WordPress.org (self-hosted) blog. You'll have to transfer your content from the 1st blog to the later one. Let me know if this helps or not and we'll tackle it again. Barbara...bkb2012.

Thanks Barbara :) I set up my domain (via WPExpress not Blog & Funnel - I don't know if this made a difference) at WA before the 8th July. But I tied to set up email on it after 8th July ... cut a long story short eventually I tried to delete the domain altogether from WA and re-install using NS3 and NS4 but there must be some glitch because it wouldn't let me do it. In the end I took it to my JustHost account where everything is now set up ok. This wouldn't put me off WA Hosting though - I think it was just because there was a cross over of servers and it's not critical to me. Kyle was very helpful the whole way through, and let's face it technical glitches are one of life's ongoing challenges [lol]. Thanks again Barbara :)
Reply
PMV Premium
Thanks Barbara :) What I did in the end was to delete the old blog (on NS1 & NS2 ) and tried to create a new one ( on NS3 & NS4). But there appeared some technical glitch that would not allow me to set up the old domain name on the new servers. I can't remember the details now but I suspect there was some loss of integrity during the deletion process and in some spurious file somewhere there remained a ghost of the blog which stopped a new one with the same name being created on the new servers. This is just my logical assumption from way back in my IT days [lol]. So I moved that blog to JustHost to save what was turning into a wild goose chase but it was fun during the hair ripping stages [lol]. There wasn't anything on it, I'm still at the Wordpress / Thesis etc learning stage. Thanks muchly for your help though Babara - your supportive blogs and tutorials are great to have in the community :)

I guess CPA may be a good start if there's no clickbank for you. It might be worth posting a question in the forum to see if others have any ideas given the limitations you're currently working with. I'm also very interested in figuring out how to make money online and am currently taking the article writing accredited course. I think it will show me the way. Have also lost a ton of $$ online, unfortunately, most due to ignorance and a get rich quick attitude I've had in the past. I've learned making money online takes time, persistence, and focus. Have a great day in the UK.

Hi Fallulah, it's me again. I didn't realize that you posted on my blog until after I replied to your buddy request. Yes, meditation has been helping me considerably. The recent death of a family member in addition to the fact that I'm often stressed about something such as work; and I'm often in a hurry to get things done, and seem to always be on the go. Needless to say, I wear myself out quite often. I had been feeling overwhelmed and had low energy for quite a while. It had been interfering with me accomplishing my goals including WA. I had been wanting to try meditation for a while, but never really took the time, until a recent trip to emergency room due to stress (and the resulting over $2000 bill w/ no insurance) got me motivated to try something. I refuse to take medications for such a thing, don't trust doctors tendency to push a variety of meds on you for one reason or another. Anyway, the meditation has helped considerably. Still have quite a ways to go, but feeling less anxious and have more energy.

Paula, If you go out, then come back in to click on the link in Kyle's blog, then I think it'll work. Same thing happened to me.

To be grandfathered in is a relief. Too bad they will not allow an already enrolled member to have the yearly rates at the old price after June. LOL. I like paying monthly anyway. It's really something that you can't raise your rates. We're being faced with the same thing. People either can't afford it, or they're living close to the vest these days.

Thanks Joan :))) I got there in the end, just prior to collapsing sobbing in a heap on the floor!!! Only kidding :))) I'm so relieved though. I just wouldn't have been able to do it. They're tough decisions to have to make. I provide acupuncture and the price is just too much for many people which quite upsets me because I know its power. The thing is my own costs mean I simply can't bring it down so I understand completely where Kyle and Carson are coming from. Thanks for the tip Joan!

Hi there Dabk, Thanks for the add!
I guess Lennon did live in some kinda average buildings before he was famous [lol] - maybe even after too! Rock 'n roll was pretty different then ... not so much of all this bling 'n nonsense [lol].
Keep at it mate :)

Hi, Paula
I was once in the UK, with 2 friends, for 2 days. Back then I lived in France. One of my friends was nuts about the Beatles so we spent 2 days looking at some average looking buildings that my friends swore Lennon lived. We had dinner at an Indian restaurant. We ate turkey with green beans. John Lennon lived in yellow buildings.
Enough about that. I started with the idea that I love getting problems to solve. But once I find the solution, I lose interest in actually doing whatever in the real world.
Now that I boxed myself in nicely, I'll say bye and go figure out how to get out this. But not actually do it.

Hi there Jeffrey, thanks :)
I think I need to make the action into action that makes money now [lol]! My perfectionist streak keeps having a hissy fit when I think of doing another squidoo lens ... the thing is ... should I publish before it's perfect ... hmm can feel a forum question coming on [lol]!!!

No. Never came across Abraham-Hicks. I will find it. I'm currently reading "infinite possibilities" by Mike Dooley. "we are the very reason why the sun rises each day"

Thank you for your friendship.
May abundance fill all aspects of your life.

Hi Tony :) Happy Easter and Welcome to WA!
Thank you for your friendship, it sounds like we hae quite a bit in common ... The Secret, Bob Proctor and the Law of Attraction (though I prefer to think of it as a natural law of vibration I suppose). I wonder if you've come across any of the Abraham-Hicks materials? I've found those pretty phenomenal (especially the audio cds that come free with book series). Lots of Blessings and Good Fortune to You Marty!
