Eating an Elephant
As a newbie , the amount of information here in WA seems almost staggering, I seem to see even more each time I come to my site. It's like this information takes on elephant size proportions that could become overwhelming if one allowed themselves to get into a negative frame of mind.
My mind however is eased by the manner in which training is set out,enabling someone like myself to start off with my little baby steps, watching my understanding grow as I make my way through the course, lesson by lesson. I also find there is much inspiration to be had from within so many wonderfully thoughtful and thought provoking blogs by so many people within the realms of WA.
No matter what our walk in life was before arriving at WA, once here we all become something more by fact that no matter what ultimate destination each member of WA has for themselves, there is one space where the whole WA family or realm comes together as one and that is in the studying, understanding and application of this information. There is power in that!
The kind of power that moves one daily to doing, to keep the big picture, to stay focused on the desired goal and not become overwhelmed by the day to day demands of bringing a dream together. By "Being moved to do daily", I follow the instructions on the screen before me, lesson by lesson. And in a moments pause, I am struck by the realisation of "Hey!, I did'nt know any of that a week ago" and with it my understanding of "Massive action in small pieces" moves the elephant wall of information to a different perspective, one of small, easily handled information blocks, so much easier to digest. So how do you eat an elephant?: Mouthful by mouthful.

Good for you Phillip that you realize early that you have to do it step by step. With that approach and lazer focus your will get through it and like you said it is always amazing to look back and realize how far you have come compared to where you were a few days or a week ago. Keep moving forward bit by bit and all the best, you can do it. We all can.
Probably reading blogs or questions may overwhelm, but everything mentioned is not necessarily what is needed for your site. If you see something that may be a tool or resource you want to use later or learn more about it then bookmark it, save it, write it down or however you want to refer to it later.
Lots of great info here, but it all doesn't go on your site is the point. And following the step by step training will give you the base foundation for your site and then move on an add the features you think will work best for your site later.

Phillip, I think you have a good handle on what's ahead of us all here. To continue with the elephant metaphors. Many of us when we came to WA after looking at many Biz Ops of "One Click Wonders To Riches" we knew that WA is different.
It's not "Get Rich Quick!" We know that from taking the 'Get Started Course 1' Even knowing that we're still like the blind man that grabs an elephant's tail, and thinks he's holding a snake. We have no concept of the mass amount of knowledge and skills that go into building a website and running a successful business.
Maybe there is some benefit to not getting the full scope of the beast at first site. ;^)

Mouthful by mouthful is a great ananolgy regarding how we approach our goals and you add a nice touch of humour to it here.
Just like you say, when you look back and think "wow! A week ago I did not understand that" it makes you think of where you will be in 1 year from now!
With an appreciation of massive action, the power of laser focus and passion you can definately turn the elephant into a mouse.
